We cannot recommend Global Minds enough! Our daughter loves going to school and is picking up Spanish so quickly. All of her teachers are amazing and we love all of the crafts and drawings she brings home. We get videos and pictures throughout the school day, which is so nice. Our daughter attended summer camp at Global Minds having never been in a language immersion school before. She was in both Mandarin and Spanish classes and all the kids and staff were very welcoming to her. And patient with her, too, as she didn’t always know what the instructions were! She always came out at the end of the day with a smile and new knowledge. She brought home interesting and engaging projects. It was a great experience for our whole family.
When we first enrolled, the director was welcoming and the school had a wonderful teacher who created a positive environment. That teacher abruptly left mid-year and the atmosphere changed. There was frequent staff turnover, communication was inconsistent, and the overall stability for the students declined. In my experience, the director seemed more focused on keeping staff satisfied than on fostering a nurturing environment for the children. When concerns were raised, the discussion became tense and unproductive.
Global minds is an amazing little full immersion preschool. To be honest, I was skeptical at the beginning. However the world of difference I saw in every single kid from the beginning of the school year up until the end amazed me. Every single kid was speaking, singing and understanding when spoken to on either mandarin or Spanish. Some kids in both ! Owners are always on site, native speakers … as the rest of the staff… and hands on. Environment is a welcoming, nurturing one. Installations are clean. Can’t say enough good things about this place. Happy to see a school like this in the area. Not too far there’s an IB (international baccalaureate) elementary, middle school and high school where these kids can further their language journey.
