What Parents Say
Girls Incorporated of Omaha receives consistently positive feedback from parents and community members. Parents praise the dedicated teachers, quality programming, and positive impact on their daughters' development. The facility has recently expanded with new buildings and now includes a Nebraska Medicine clinic on campus.
Girls, Inc. offers a space where girls are thriving! The programming is top notch: they are learning together from kind, dedicated and caring teachers.
Location is horrible and sketchy & communication between staff is 0/10. Booked an appointment 2 months in advance … Had a scheduled appointment to see Dr. Gordon but she already “left for the day” when I arrived for my appointment.
10/10 would not recommend. My niece used to go there, and she's experienced total hate, bullying, and in her own words "torture". Every time she would get home from girls inc. she would complain about girls inc. like saying she has no friends, she feels uncomfortable. She's constantly overhearing rumors about her. And I feel like no kid should have to deal with that, the girls are super grown and ratchet. The girls are always talking about somebody, which makes my niece not feel comfortable to express herself. She also tells me that the workers don't even try to discipline the girls when they do bad things that are against the rules, but they do suspend girls if they get into fights, cuss out workers;etc. One day I also heard her wishing that girls inc. goes out of business, and that is very heartbreaking to hear from your own family member. I wish girls inc. did better about situations like this. Till then I would recommend you don't enroll your girl into girls inc. Do better girls inc.
Let me start by saying this is a great facility which offers an exceptional amount of inspirational guidance and outlets for today's youth & young ladies. On the flip side...What I would like to address is the lack of professionalism in communications with parents on closures. On two occassions this week I arrived to drop my daughter off for out of school care to find they were closed. No communication from staff on upcoming closure, no visible signs posted, no recoded message on phone service NOTHING. As a business I expect more, especially from a facility that is clear in advising there aren't any refunds offered for the membership fee. I sat in the parking lot with multiple parents today only find out the facility was closed for training. After flagging down staff who never acknowledged seeing all the cars parked in the parking lot with lights on, to nonchalantly state "we are closed this week for training." The issue is not that the facility is closed, my issue is its closed without any communication to patrons. This was my second time this week being late to work due to believing the facility was and would be open! This left me scattering at the last minute to find child care for my minor daughter. I lost money for this lack of consideration of my time, as well as planning on behalf of a business. This is unacceptable and shareholders should be aware of how this type of behavior will affect revenue profits and loss. I look forward to seeing improvements in communications going forward, as well as a plan put in place to ensure no other parent(s) has this experience. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!
The staff in the front seem like they dont want to deal with anything. Their customer service is very poor. They will literally ignore you standing in front of them at the desk until you pretty much forcefully get their attention. The way they deal with the parents really has me questioning how much they really care about the girls at this establishment or is it just a easy paycheck.
