What Parents Say
Parents universally praise Gingerbread House Child Care Center for its Christian-based curriculum, caring staff, and clean facilities. Children reportedly show strong academic progress and enjoy attending. The facility serves ages 3 months through middle school and is noted as more affordable than competing local options.
This is a wonderful Christian driven private daycare facility that provides care from the ages of 3 months to middle school! I have 3 boys and have used them for daycare, before and after school services, and Pre-K for 3 years. My children are smarter and more well behaved having gone through GBH! The owners all the way down to the staff are top notch and truly care for not only the children but the parents as well! Being a part of the GBH family means everything to me!
My son has been going here for going on 2 months and we absolutely love it! He looks forward to going to school everyday, he comes home singing songs about Jesus, and he learned to spell & write his name within the first 3 weeks of attending the pre-k Christian class. the staff are always so nice and welcoming to us.
We love the teachers and staff at gingerbread. Sending your child to school is the scariest moment of your life, trusting someone with you kid for more waking hours than you have them most of the time. However gingerbread has always been quick to share all the information of our daughters day and heard all and any concerns we've had over the last 3 years.
My child attended Gingerbread for 6 months and to this day I still have mixed feelings about our experience. The owner is a very nice, friendly woman, but I can't say that I feel the same for the rest of the staff. Some days I felt uncomfortable dropping my children off a the facility and I couldn't pin point the exact reason why. The staff hardly smiled and they don't encourage communication between the staff and parents because "it takes away time from the other children" (this was in a weekly newsletter they sent home). Another major issue is that they have way too many children in each classroom. They might be within State guidelines, but I prefer a school with a better student-teacher ratio. Also, they rarely did any creative art projects with the students. Most of their artwork consists of coloring sheets. Overall this is a good choice since the staff is accomodating to your child's specific needs and it is an affordable choice, but the school is seriously lacking in the student-teacher ratio and in staffing competent teachers.
The owner is incredibly unprofessional and does not take responsibility for issues that happen in her facility. The student-teacher ratio is not balanced causing an unsafe environment for the children. Please do your research on this daycare before sending your beloved children there so that your family can avoid serious issues that my family and many other families have faced. Your children deserve a much higher quality of care than what this facility is capable of providing.
