What Parents Say
Applebrook Country Day School receives highly polarized reviews. Most parents praise the caring staff, clean facilities, outdoor time, and developmental progress, but several parents report inconsistent staffing, hygiene issues, clothing mix-ups, unprofessional social media practices, and management concerns.
We have had our oldest son at Applebrook for a year and a half, and our youngest in for 5 months (since he turned 4 months old). We absolutely love this daycare. This is the 3rd daycare our oldest has been to, and he has also had a nanny in the past. This is the best experience we've had to date (along with his first daycare which is run by someone who used to be the director at Applebrook)! Teresa and Jenny do such a great job running the place, and I know the entire staff cares deeply for the kids and do a great job making sure they are nurtured. It is so hard as a mother to leave my kids, but I know they are in good hands at Applebrook. I would recommend it to anyone! Some of my favorite things about Applebrook are how intentional they are at keeping the space very homey and comfortable for the kids. I always notice that they keep up with making it look nice and keeping it clean. Teresa also always makes sure that the kids get plenty of time outside.
All 3 of my boys are at Applebrook. It has been fantastic for them! The teachers are wonderful with the kids, the playground is amazing and we really appreciate all of the outside time. Their pre-k program has been amazing for our oldest! Their facilities are beautiful. We wouldn't take our kids anywhere else.
Our daughter has been at Applebrook since she was 8 mo old and we have had nothing but a WONDERFUL experience there! All the ladies that work there (and K.K :) ) are great and you can tell they truly care about the kids. Improvements are always being made to make the school look better and to insure the kids are having the best time when they are at their home away from home. Our daughter is now 4 and will be going to prek at Applebrook in the Fall. So sad it will be our last year there but we will continue to use them for aftercare! When your child counts down the days to go back to school on the weekends you know you have them in a great place!! thank you Teressa, Jenny and all the employees for all you do!
10/10 do not recommend. I stood at the front desk while the owner argued with her pharmacy about getting her pain medication early for vacation. My son consistently had different “teachers” ie young girls that watch the children. None of them were ever consistent and seemed not to know much about my son. My son on several occasions came home in someone else’s clothing when I packed a spare set daily in his backpack and had multiple conversations with the assistant director and staff about this. My son was constantly filthy. I mean I understand kids get dirty but crusted shirts, soaked pants, nasty face. I often changed him and cleaned him up before we left. On top of that the body language my son exhibited when going here was unsettling which is why we made an abrupt change. I’m not sure I would even leave my pets here after my experience.
We have been bringing our DD here for almost 2 years now and have never had a problem. Our daughter is now 2 and potty trained, knows her letters and numbers and speaks in full sentences. They have been essential to encouraging our DD to learn and explore. The staff here always greets my DD with a hug and is always playing with the kids when we pick her up (no matter the time of day we arrive). I can't say enough good things about this place. UPDATE-- We had to move due to new jobs. I tried putting my daughter in another school near where we live and in comparison Applebrook still seems to stand above the rest. The school she switched to was just mediocore and didn't seem to take my childs best interests to heart. She was never greeted the way she was at applebrook, and I actually believe she has started to regress with her education and socially. She never wants to go to school anymore. I have removed her from this facility but it just makes Applebrook mean that much more.
