If I could I'd give them negative stars. The staff is rude. The counselor makes my son's anxiety worse which was the purpose of him going there and is incredibly rude to him. The counselor also reschedules his appointments at the last minute every time and takes it upon herself to schedule a new date/time without even contacting me and is consistently late to every appointment and then end the appointment early. Seems like pure laziness to me. I've never had a place act so unprofessional.
I am a foster parent through this agency, and I can't recommend them enough!! If you're considering becoming a foster parent, I highly recommend and recommend without for reservation Gateway-Longview!! They have a phenomenal and knowledgeable staff, & I always feel supported, no matter what is going on. I couldn't ask for a better organization to work with!
Went through program to be foster parents. Pretty standard until we got to the home visits and they started demanding things that simply don't exist. Required a Trauma Assessment of me despite that not being an actual Mental Health assessment practice. (My partner and I both work in a mental health facility and contacted multiple psychiatrists, therapists, and the facilities they suggested.) When we couldn't find out how to get the mythical assessment they required, they refused to help, lied, refused to meet with us, refused to let us talk to a supervisor. So we filled out the paperwork for them to turn our information over to the county, which they failed to do. There are children sitting in inappropriate group homes because they just do not care as an organization. Avoid if at all possible, we are going through a private agency for adoption at this point and will revisit foster care later through a more professional organization.
Open your mind and hearts to being a foster parent the need is big and gateway is one of the best companies to have on your side. They are all helpful and understanding and will guide you every step of the way...
Definitely had the best experience here day treatment and residential stuff were great caring loving people couldn't have asked for better helped me grow up alot
