Future Generations Child Care & Development Center

So now that my children are unenrolled and all their stuff has been removed from the center , I feel comfortable enough to speak on this. So my children attended future generations daycare in Lorain Ohio for about the course of a year now . And sadly this wouldn’t be the first incident of a teacher pushing boundaries directly with me . But we are only going to speak on this instance and this instance only. A month ago I was going into the daycare around 1pm to pick up a physical form. I spoke to the kids teacher that was painting by the door and as she normally does she is venting about the kids and how she is tired normal convo and then slipped in and I quote “ yeah they are down for nap I sprayed his room down with melatonin and I sprayed their room down and as long as Sha’leah (the admin ) doesn’t find out I don’t care. (I feel she was comfortable telling me this cause we used to be previous coworkers at an old daycare before I left the child care .) as she is pointing to my children . So I leave . Get my physical paper for my son , and I have my best friend call the admin and tell her. I didn’t want her (the teacher ) to find out I told. I was hoping she would just think they seen the cameras they so called have that run. Well , the daycare admins had reassured me and another parent since we were the only 2 who knew that the situation had been handled and she was fired and wouldn’t be back. Now keep in mind I have all my cda class work done I’ve done daycare work before going head on into tattoos for almost 3 years . I know the protocols that were supposed to be taken. Such as notifying other parents by hanging a notice in the center . Which they did not do. So now fast farward to last week. When they have the assistance admin I believe is the position, sit down with me and the other parent separately and ask how we felt about them hiring her back. She said that they waited on my kids to be better and come back to the center to specifically ask me . And I told them . I don’t want her around my children and I will unenroll mine . They tried to tell me she has a lot going on ( which I heard with the last time I had an issue with a teacher and inappropriate behavior ). I told them any parent who feels they can give my child anything like that without my permission and blantantly tell me to my face that she is doing it behind the Admins back is insane . And then to give her the opportunity to come back to do it again is even worse . So then today I walk in and her car is there and she’s there working . So I sent the admin a message which I will attach. And I unenrolled my children , and I will be notifying ODJFS. I didn’t make a scene the first time this happened because they reassured me so much that she was fired and would not be back. Then today as I pick my children up , they pull me into the office , and then they tell me that’s not what they heard and that it’s been almost 2 months ( I continued to correct them that it’s only been a month ) and I quoted to them what she said. And they said oh we thought you just overheard her say it we didn’t know she said it to you. And then asked if I minded if she came in ; and I told them no I didn’t she knows what she said , and they brought her in and asked her if she made that statement . She said no , and then the daycare admins began to gaslight me and try to manipulate it , they said that “ she isn’t even in the room with your kids , “ she had 2 months of suspension” and then was told I’m sorry I feel uncomfortable and they respect my decision.

I’d give 0 stars if I could!! A teacher gives kids melatonin’s without parent permission. The admin that brought that teacher back after she was fired for it- should be fired , along with that teacher a SECOND time. Good thing ODJFS was contacted. What a shame!!

I can not say one bad thing about this center. My daughter struggles with multiple disorders and Future generations gave me hope when I was ready to give up on every child care provider. Shea’lia and her staff are absolutely amazing they turned my fight into there’s and have helped every step of the way not as just a childcare provider but as a family.

I was there as a kid and recently I was needing childcare, so I went in to check things out and it LITERALLY had the same set up as the year 2000, and was disturbing! The staff looked unkep and unprofessional ,and the establishment seemed to be falling apart . I know a person who attends there and they have new staff there every week ! I clearly didn’t enroll my children ! If you want outstanding childcare I would recommend horizon !

They give children (even under age for consumption) melatonin without parent consent? Do not bring your kids here if you care about them.
