Frederick Country Day Montessori School

My daughter has attended FCD for two years and has been in two different classrooms, and we have been very happy with our experience. We love the school’s culture and Montessori approach, especially how children learn about different countries, holidays, music, language, foods, and art. FCD also offers some of the best summer camps with a different weekly theme. The enrichment during the school year is just as impressive. They bring in music teachers, and the children learn songs from different cultures and in different languages. The students also cook in their classrooms, learn how to serve themselves food, and practice practical life skills like folding washcloths, washing windows, and sorting—skills that have been incredibly helpful at home The focus on life skills has been amazing. After just her first week, she was able to put her jacket on independently—something we hadn’t even tried at home and didn’t realize she was capable of yet. During this time, my husband and I went through a separation, and the FCD team was incredibly supportive and communicative, helping ensure everyone was on the same page and making the transition easier for our family. Everyone at the school is friendly and welcoming, from the teachers to the front desk staff.. We appreciate the director, Fazidah, and her active involvement. She is well-informed, approachable, and consistently helpful and communicative your students, staff and families. We love the app the school uses that provides photos and updates throughout the day. Unfortunately, we are moving away from the school, but we’ve had a wonderful experience, we are grateful for the experience and highly recommend FCD.

We couldn’t be happier with Frederick Country Day Montessori School. In just a few months, our child has learned and grown so much, both academically and personally. The environment is safe, warm, and truly welcoming, which gives us great peace of mind as parents. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed and age-appropriate, allowing children to learn at their own pace while building confidence and independence. Communication with parents is excellent; we always feel informed, supported, and included in our child’s learning journey. This school has exceeded our expectations, and we are incredibly grateful to be part of such a caring and dedicated community.

Both of my sons go to Frederick Country Day and it has turned out to be one of the best decisions we’ve made regarding their education. Our sons are being molded into young, independent, responsible leaders and we could not be more proud of them. FCD is a true Montessori school. We also Iike that FCD encourage healthy eating habits which we also encourage at home. Communication was a major factor that went into deciding on a School for our boys. The communication between the administration and their teachers has been phenomenal. I never have to wonder what’s going on with them because we are updated throughout the day and I have a question I get a response within 24hrs, if not much sooner. We know that our Kindergarten will be well head of the curve when he gets to first grade. Our only wish is that FCD went beyond Kindergarten. If they did we would definitely stay.

My little girl has been attending here since she was 18 months and we love it. They have a slew of activities daily that teach them about reading, math, science and the world. She's also made so many friends and we schedule playdates with. We highly recommend Montessori Day for the social interactions, learning, and teachers who really care about the growth of the kids.

I am proud to be a teacher at this school. It is a supportive, responsive, and community-driven environment where children truly thrive. The school is rich in culture and diversity, creating a welcoming and inclusive space for students, families, and staff. Our director, Fazidah Kramer, is incredibly attentive, She consistently supports teachers and is always present, approachable, and responsive. Her leadership makes this a wonderful place to work and a great environment for children to learn and grow.
