We love worshipping here. Located in downtown Franklin on 4th Avenue, this church family lives their motto, “Love God, Serve others, Share Jesus.” Worship is every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. classes are at 11:00 a.m. They have nursery, preschool, KAF (K-4th), Club 56 (5th-6th grades), YAF (7th-12th grades), and several adult classes at 11-11:45ish. They also stream worship on YouTube. There is parking behind the church off 5th Ave/Columbia Hwy, on both sides, and across 4th Ave. behind Triple Crown Bakery. On Sunday mornings if you are attending worship here, you do not need to pay for parking even though signs indicate it is a paid lot. They have an indoor prayer room and an outside prayer garden. For accessibility, they have a ramp off the back parking lot. There is an elevator to get to the basement and third floor.
My husband and I have been attending fourth Avenue for about six years now. At that time we had been visiting different churches trying to find a home. When we walked in the doors of fourth Avenue, we were immediately welcomed. As we found a seat people all around us introduced themselves and ask about us. We felt so welcome and wanted and loved. Six years later, we feel even more loved and a part of this church. The church has become our family and we are so blessed to be a part of it.
Fourth Avenue Church offers a unique experience of providing a Christ-centered family atmosphere where humble people of faith gather to be the hands and feet of Jesus while offering both healing and opportunities for Spiritual growth. The Holy Spirit is on the move to gently offer healing from the wounds of life (including old, deep religious wounds), and also challenging us to grow in our faith and in service to the community around us. The messaging from the pulpit is convicting, the worship is genuine, and the teaching is Biblically-based and sound. Words cannot accurately describe the experience. I would invite you to come and experience it for yourself!
4th Avenue has been home for us for years and years. The intentional connection with the community and from within is amazing. We worship, serve, pray and lift up together as a family. It’s a wonderful community for people of all ages to connect and model the love and acceptance of Christ that we strive to follow. Come visit and you will find a warm welcome!
For me, Christianity is about worshipping Jesus, sharing Jesus and serving others. (Fourth Ave. brings plenty of all of that). But it's more. God made us to be people who need to belong; people who need community. When a service or anything else ends at Fourth, half the people are still there 20 minutes later -- just talking, hugging, laughing, enjoying one another. Or sharing some deep conversation. Just being in community -- regardless of our backgrounds. And, if you have kids (babies through teens) and you want them plugged in at church and learning about God and faith, Fourth Ave. is amazing for kids.
