First Steps Childcare

I have major concerns about the lack of security at First Steps. There is usually no one at the front and even when there was, no one asked to check my ID or validate who I was. The pin for the keypad on the office door lock is written in sharpie on the door. I am afraid anyone could just waltz in and access kids. Although my child had been in daycare previously elsewhere with no problems socializing, when I went to pick her up she looked as if she had been crying all day and would literally cling to me. I don't know what is happening there, but she definitely did not feel secure. Illness runs rampant in this facility. I know kids are going to get exposed to germs and get sick, one child in her class had green mucous gunked around her nose, which my doctor had told me indicates an infection. There needs to be a better policy in place for when children are to stay home and it needs to be adhered to. If you are looking for good childcare please check out Bright Futures. My daughter loves it there and it is so clean, bright, and very secure. She has been going there for 3 weeks and no signs of illness. (At First Steps she was getting sick after every visit). I am in no way affiliated with either of these facilities, I am just trying to give accurate information from one parent to another. Also, I am a server and I know how online reviews can be exaggerated. I am truly relaying my experience and would NEVER reccomend someone to take their child to this daycare!

This place is amazing, they have been very good to both of my children. They always communicate well, they treat the children with respect. Very friendly and kind. Teach and develop the children rather than just giving them something to play with. They also try to accommodate their different needs when it comes to COVID-19 and the school age children. All around a great and trustworthy place to have your kids.

Don't waste your time with this place. They constantly over enroll students then they tell you you can't bring your kiddo in. POOR MANAGEMENT. If you have to go to work you'll risk losing your job since you can't take your kiddo to daycare. Definitely don't recommend.

I loved the ppl they had that took care of my kids Dearly!!!! but management is horrible ! I moved away with money I had prepaid ,left in that account .I wanted it back before I left but they promised to mail it to me. And they said they sent off a check after waiting a few months I remembered I still hadn’t got it. I got ahold of a women I knew worked there named Mercedes because they never answer there phone at the daycare and she said she was going to send it herself. Weeks later , she said she sent but didn’t!she stopped answering me, I called left message at the day care ,Nobody answers ever! I’ve been trying for months to get ahold of somebody but nothing!!! A good 50 down the drain I guess! Disgusting and unprofessional!!!! I want MY MONEY BACK

Been here since my kid was just about a year old. They have been amazing. My Child is ahead of the curve on all things i can think of and she is three now. Couldnt be happier with her developement here, both intellectual and social.
