From the time you enter, you see faces with smiles and very friendly people. The worship was good, with young adults leading that Sunday. The word was an unforgettable word: "MAN UP." I enjoyed this worship experience each and every time! The Place Where You Can Belong..
The church claimed they were building a senior living community to help seniors who needed affordable housing. It has now been converted into a fully commercial enterprise that rents out to all ages without even notifying residents. The most disparaging aspect of this is the management at the apartment complex systematically ignores and puts seniors in danger. Seniors are being ignored by management for dangerous things such as: children riding scooters in hallways, a loose pitbull roaming the property and attacking seniors, people smoking cigarettes in the courtyard, busted car windows in parking lots, etc… The church can no longer hide behind the excuse that they are building a senior living community. That lie has been exposed and the truth is they couldn’t care less about seniors as long as the check from the rent money comes in $$$
The staff is very nice peoples I The pastor and his family, he is a good preacher, I love how they greet the people's with a warm welcome 🙏 🤗 God Bless 🎶 🙌
If I could give first metropolitan church a zero rating, I would. A church is supposed to respond and take care of its community. It’s supposed to focus on listening to its people. Yet, it seems as if this congregation has fallen weak to the knees of greed. In light of the news that the church is building the First Met Apartments on their land adjacent to the church, according to the Harris County Central Appraisal District records, it is actively deforesting once protected wet lands that I grew up adoring in order to do it. This land is valued at $7.1 million and is exempt from state and local property taxes. Behind those future apartments, are long time residents of 20-30 years who felt protected by the forest, which is now destroyed. Native hawks and wildlife stripped of their land too. Concerned residents have reached out to the church for information and to ask for an explanation of why they saw trees coming down unexpectedly from their backyards, yet the church refuses to answer their community or return their calls. Now I get it, a church is in the business of business just like any other monopoly. But as a ministry of God, to ignore your community is just down right disrespectful and no act of kindness. God sees all. Lastly, since the church won’t return calls to their neighbors, I want to effectively communicate this…seeing those trees fall down behind my childhood home and the feeling of excess exposure behind our fence has brought great pain to my family.
