As a member of Sue Martin’s family, I just wanted to express our disappointment in your church. Sue was a very faithful member of your congregation, until she was homebound and no longer able to attend. There were no visits or contacts once she wasn’t there. She missed her church family very much. When we contacted your church to see if you could host the funeral, we were told that it would be inconvenient, but if they could do it early, maybe that would work out. Sue’s daughter was devastated that you all were not willing to accommodate us in this time of need. There’s no excuse for making this family feel even more neglected than they already were by your congregation. My father attended first Baptist church in Cleveland, and when he passed away, they were willing to have his funeral on a Wednesday night, and rearranged their schedule and their meeting places, so that my father‘s funeral Could be attended to. If a church of 3000 could do this for my family, I don’t understand why your church could not accommodate Sue Martin’s family. If you care more about your bottom line, then the members of your congregation, then you do not reflect the love and grace that Jesus wanted us to share. This was a wonderful opportunity for you to be the face and hands of Jesus, and you dropped the ball. I hope that in the future you will show more regard and more mercy to those who are hurting.
Well we went in need of help with gas and clothes. We have been travelling and living in our car. We were rudely sent away by some lady that told us they only help members of their community. Well, we have been living in Cleveland and Gainesville for last two weeks and so I figure that makes us just that. So we went back recently and the lady there was astounded at this news and told us to come back Monday to speak to Al Smith and she would talk to him about a $250 voucher for clothing. Well we couldn't make it Monday as we had no gas but made it there Tuesday and only received a $40 voucher .... Just a pet Peave if sm1 tells u something they should follow thru.
A friend of mine, who had hard times. Took a job at the old Johnson controls, now Adient or what ever. He had no decent comfortable shoes, had to walk 2 miles each way. One day he on his way to his home, he needed to sit down, on the ingle side of the property. On a wall or near by the door. It was 100° outside and hotter inside where he worked. People came in and out and nobody said anything as he was over heated. He asked for water and was denied. People said NO.
Yes 1st Bap. is friendly but by the world's standard not Christ's. I was thrown out because I talked loudly no cursing just loud. A week before I had a stroke. Get the picture? I tried to end my life ONE WEEK LATER. I am still suffering from this stroke and an entire congregation's rejection. Thank God He loves me. p.s. I'm a US Navy veteran. Why are we killing ourselves?
Love this church! Great people, great preaching & great classes!
