I don't attend here, but I have worked with the Pastor, Jim Shamburger and his staff and several of the Churches Committees on projects for First Baptist Church. Always greeted with a smile from anyone I come in contact with. Good people and good Christian's here.
A truly authentic church dedicated to serving God and full of people who love the Lord and Love people, no light shows or drums, no ear tickling pseudo Gospel. It's the real dsal be sure to show up around 9:15am and ask where the Sunday school rooms are, great for adults and children.
Sad, today I prayed to God, "Lord God, is there not any place on earth where one can go for sound bible teaching, and sing a few gospel hymns? It is a disgrace to see the brave Christians during the dark ages, the reformation, the revivals, and the persecutions, who stood tall for Christ and documented their heartfelt history in church hymns, being discarded and rejected. Today, churches treat their sacrificial testimonial hymns like worthless trash. Tip your hat with maybe…just one, once a week. Certainly, it is such at this church. If you want 60's hippie-era guitar strumming and forever repeating chants like heard at Woodstock's opium dens…this place has the music ministry for you. Oh, the words honor God, the style disrespects our Christian martyrs and their testimonial history. You do not dare open a hymnal.
