What Parents Say
Family YMCA at Tarrytown operates as a children's care facility as of Fall 2023 and receives consistently positive feedback. Parents praise the safe, clean facility with loving teachers and convenient location. The facility also offers aquatic programs with certified staff.
This location of the YMCA (Wildey St) is only a children's care facility as of Fall 2023. Any reviews prior to that pertain to the old YMCA location. My family has had a wonderful experience with the Y Early Learning Center. Both of our children are enrolled and the facility is safe and clean; the teachers are loving and nurturing; and the families we've met are all wonderful. It's also a super convenient location. Highly recommend to families looking for childcare options in Tarrytown!
The Family YMCA at Tarrytown is good place for Aquatic staff and I'm a Lifeguard at the YMCA guarding swim lessons, recreation swim and lap swim. Melissa Weaver is very accommodating for aquatic staff's work and school schedule. Ryan Murray and Stephen Sciame are the best they renews Aquatic Staff Certifications in American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. Highly recommend. They require the following for Lifeguards · Current certifications in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED, First Aid · Maintain constant supervision and ensure safety of all participants during various activities (lap swim, children's swim lessons, water fitness classes, adult and youth recreational swims) · Responsible for enforcing all pool rules in a polite, consistent manner · Responsible for the set up of the pool (placing racing lanes in or out of the pool) for different programs · Keeps pool area neat by putting all equipment away on a regular basis · Performs maintenance tasks as assigned by shift (vacuuming of pool, hosing of pool deck) · Required to test and record the pool chemicals every 4 hours · Refrains from using cell phone while on the pool deck, remains attentive at all times · Experience preferred, but not mandatory P.S. I renew my American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Certifications here
It's not bad, is not great. The pool is decent and usually not crowded, and it's cute they've got a lot of family activities. The gym area is lacking some basic equipment (like a regular exercise bike with a screen) and the sauna is on the basement floor (inconvenient). I like being able to swim and go to the gym at the same time though! (Added the swimming pool schedule since it wasn't added here already.) En conclusión, ¡me gusta! 🙂

The gym is wonderful except whenever everyone leaves and there are only one or two us left, we get kicked out and told the gym closes at 10. The gym closes at 10:30 weeknights. I rush home from work and try to make the gym only to be kicked out early because the worker there doesn't want to work? Ridiculous. I pay 50$ monthly to use the gym because of the hours and the location; while other gyms are 10$ - 15$ weekly. Im thinking of driving a few minutes extra and going to another gym. Disappointing.
