What Parents Say
Falls Church Montessori receives overwhelmingly positive feedback for its Montessori teaching approach and caring staff, with children demonstrating advanced academic skills in math, reading, and writing. One recent review expresses concerns about ownership changes, staffing instability, and policy shifts that have negatively impacted the learning environment.
I had two children attend this school and decided to go elsewhere. Ownership changed multiple times and is now under Cadence Education. I have found that the new leadership care more about getting your money than they do about the children’s needs. The school constantly closes and has teacher shortages with a revolving door of new teachers. They established new policies that emotionally distances the teachers and children to the point I had to give approval for them to hug my child if they were distraught. The final straw was when the school had to suddenly close for almost two weeks for building repairs due to their inability to maintain the school. During this time they refused to give credit for the missed time because they offered another school 40 minutes away which put undue burden on the families. There are better Montessori school options around.
Our oldest has been at FCM since she was 3. Her growth has been remarkable, she's learned to write, read, do addition and substraction, and so many life skills...we can trust her when she says she knows how to do something. Our youngest just started in the toddler class, and the transition has been wonderful. The teachers are solid, and Ms Chevonne has been wonderful in the front office.
Our two children have attended Falls Church Montessori since 2014. We could not be happier with the environment this wonderful team has created. My children are excited to learn and feel so much love. And they have fun too. My 5 year old is about to graduate and can read, do addition, subtraction, and is starting to do multiplication and division! The teaching style is catered to your child's strengths (my two children are very different!) and I know that has helped. Thanks!
Our son has been with FCM (Falls Church Montessori) since he was 12 months and he is almost 4 now. We still remember his first day there, he was the youngest in the class; the teachers welcomed him and us and ever since have treated him like family. Over these years, our son was given so much of love and at the same time was taught good values and discipline. The management is always improving the place, taking parents feedback into account and always keeping the kids interest first. Our son has really enjoyed his time at FCM. We are now moving to a new city and FCM has been extremely helpful and prompt in providing any paperwork needed for transfer to the new Montessori. We highly recommend it.
A great place for preschool. The teachers are very nice and warm. We saw a big different within 3 months of our son attending there. The class structured around specific lessons and learning methods toward math skills (addition and subtraction), writing the alphabet, shapes, many more topics. They even teach Spanish in class.
