We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to this wonderful Falls Church Merrifield preschool, where our child attended. From the very beginning, we were amazed by the facility: spacious, bright rooms and halls beautifully decorated, creating a warm and cheerful atmosphere. Each age group has its own playground, thoughtfully designed and located in a covered, shaded area so children can enjoy playtime regardless of the weather—whether it’s sunny or rainy. Children can also enjoy very tasty and nutritious lunch and snacks. The preschool is equipped with a wide variety of high-quality toys and materials. The staff is truly professional, caring, and attentive. We were especially impressed that all teachers are bilingual, speaking both Russian and English, and that they provide diverse and engaging activities. Their creativity and responsibility shine through in everything they do. Special thanks to Director Elena Miller, whose passion for children is evident in the loving, caring, and learning-focused environment she fosters and maintains every day. My daughter has been attending this preschool since she was 18 months old, and just had her last day to head to kindergarten and we can't help but feel sad. We feel incredibly fortunate to have chosen this preschool, as my daughter has truly thrived here. The teaching methods, routines, and schedules are fantastic, instilling responsibility and good manners in the kids. It's the perfect blend of learning and fun, creating an environment where children can grow and explore. We will always cherish the time spent here!
It’s truly a joy every time I step into Merrifield. There is consistently a new theme, ample opportunities to support literacy and early childhood development, and partnering with Elena as a professional has been a great experience. When our family grows we will be sending our children to Falls Church Preschool!
Our son has been going to Falls Church Merrifield Preschool for over a year now. He has had a great experience learning and playing. My wife and I work full time, therefore, knowing that the preschool’s teachers are taking good care of our child gives us a peace of mind. We appreciate the director’s proactive approach, she keeps us informed about all events and updates in the methodology and routines. It has been a great experience for our family, overall. Falls Church Merrifield Preschool has been a wonderful environment for my son where he has learned so much and thrived during the most crucial and precious years of his growth and development. I enrolled him at 18 months and now he is four and graduating. The administrator (Elena), teachers and assistants are wonderful. They are supportive, provide great feedback/communication, and work with children both in groups and one to one. The teachers highlight student’s strengths which helped my son became more curious as well as enhanced his social, gross, and fine motor skills. They provided individualized support which has given him a great foundation to build upon as he enters kindergarten. Both Elena and the teachers truly care about the children and are good at what they do! My son is socially, emotionally and academically prepared for kindergarten! Elena sends regular emails to parents letting them know what children will learn each week as well monthly lunch menus. Children also engage in events such as “fall celebrations”, “international week”, among others where the children perform and parents are invited to participate and attend. Falls Church Merrifield Preschool is more than just a preschool. It is a strong community of families that support each other in good times and bad. I am forever grateful for the school organizing a meal train during a health crisis I experienced. I highly recommend Falls Church Merrifield preschool to families who live and work in the area.
