What Parents Say
This facility appears to be a community recreation center rather than a traditional daycare. Positive reviews praise excellent staff, programs, and community value. However, recent reviews focus on pricing concerns, policy changes at park events, and disputes unrelated to childcare operations.
I experienced an excellent and affordable massage from Kent Gaither. The massage suite was clean, comfortable and inviting.
What happened to the wonderful summer lake concerts enjoyed by so many for years? The new rules are no outside alcohol and they have cordoned off entry and exits with orange construction netting in order to have teenage or young adult volunteers go through your backpacks and coolers to make sure of this. They will sell you a tiny plastic cup of wine for $7. The youngsters will check your ID and give you an wrist band. Oh andaccording to the website dogs are no longer allowed due to expected large "crows". And instead of the free raffles once enjoyed for swag bags highlighting our local businesses, they now continually pass around the bucket for you to give cash towards their deemed charity. All this during a time of massive price increases and budget tightening through every sector of our community and currently in our nation. Feels like more gouging and control. . I realize the park is run by Denver but it does allow for 3.2 beer to be consumed within the park boundaries. . Due to these controlling new changes I will not be returning.
I love this place, I leaned to work out here 2 years ago and sill go to the same place. The staff are hardworking and kind. Aswell the people in the gym, pool, and climbing wall are all so suportive to new comers. Highly recommend.
The pricing is outrageously high for their programs! It really seems like Evergreen Park and Rec is no longer about getting members of the community out exercising and building community, it's now just about soaking as much money as possible out of families who want to get their kids outdoors. It was $250 for my son to sign up for basketball for 6 weeks and his dad volunteered to coach! How does that make any sense? Also look at how overpriced ice skating on the lake is, last season it was close to $100 for our family to go ice skate on the lake for a couple hours last winter...the prices are just so excessively high...it is not great for the community.
EPRD has provided so much for our children and community. I love everything they have provided. Their programs and staff are amazing and they are a huge part of our community! It seems that there are multiple one-star reviews with similar language from non-community members (such as those from Texas, Louisiana) that are focused on the standoff between the landowner and the community at Kittredge park. I felt like I needed to point that out, since EPRD is so much more than a manager of one park next to a creek with contended access!
