My twins LOVE this school. Absolutely love it. We’ve made our rounds through three other childcare centers over the years and we finally feel at home at EELC. Just yesterday I went to pick them up early and my daughter actually cried because she wanted to stay longer. We have no doubt they are getting the best care here, from Angie at the front desk, to Julia in the cafeteria, to their wonderful teachers in Betts Station. We trust them wholeheartedly and see the love they have for our children every single day. It’s really something special.
Elizabeth’s Early Learning Center in Lynchburg is a fantastic place for young children to learn and grow. While my kids didn’t attend, I know several staff members and have seen firsthand the warm, nurturing environment they create. The teachers are dedicated, compassionate, and truly invested in each child's development. The center's culture fosters a love for learning, creativity, and social growth, making it a wonderful choice for families looking for high-quality early childhood education. EELC is a gem in our community!
Elizabeth’s ELC is a wonderful school and I am very happy with them as a parent. Both my children started at EELC as infants with one child having gone through until starting kindergarten and my other child still there. The staff and teachers have been wonderful to work with and go out of their way to connect with both my children. Staff have always been open and honest about anything happening in the classroom from incidents to fun activities they are doing and topics they are learning about. I am given many opportunities to be involved as a parent to ask questions of teachers and otherwise be connected to the school and receive communication regarding my child throughout the day. Many staff members have been at EELC for many years and I can tell they deeply love children and what they do. As part of my job, I facilitate programs in childcare classrooms around the area, and very few places compare to the level of care, kindness, and educational curriculum that EELC offers.
Stella Tanner- the most selfless, humble, caring, sweetest person I have ever known. I strive to be just like her daily. Her love for the Lord was evident. She loved with her entire heart, especially children! One thing for certain is we share the same endless love for children. Many years ago she and her friend Lib came up with the vision of EELC. Knowing how big of a need childcare was in Lynchburg she dedicated her everything to developing this childcare center. Fast forward to when it opened.. I spent a lot of time there.. I went to the summer camp there.. I still remember nap time in the great hall staring up at the puffy clouds hanging from the ceiling.. I remember many evenings spending time in the office or in the classrooms playing with the babies while she would be in her board meetings. It is no secret how much the place means to me. Throughout my different jobs and associations EELC was always a topic of conversation. Fast forward a little more to when my daughter was born in 2013. Hands down, my child would not be anywhere else but EELC, where she attended until she graduated. My son who was born in 2015 also attended and graduated from there. It was the absolute best years of my childrens lives. They learned so much and still to this day talk about their friends they made and the amazing teachers they had. Fast forward to 2021. I was asked to become a board member. One of the greatest pleasures I had was being asked and I immediately said yes! The thought of forever getting to be a part of something that meant so much to my absolute favorite person just made my heart explode. Over the last couple of years I have learned a lot being on the board. It has been easy and exciting to sit around the table and take in all the experience and knowledge that each of our board members bring to the table. It has truly made me realize that our center would not be what it is without the different backgrounds and knowledge from these people. Whether its banking, architecture, school and city affiliations, parents, IT, lawyers, medical, etc. Each one of them is a valuable piece of what makes this center run! EELC has always been the best of the best and will always be the best of the best because I know for 100% certain the hearts that pour into this school are genuine!
This daycare was wonderful prior to COVID but now the quality of education there has gone downhill. I had 2 children enrolled there over the course of 6 years and paid them thousands of dollars for the care. When COVID began, the school, thankfully, stayed open but masked all children 2 years and older. When I asked for a exemption for my 4 year old, I was denied the exemption and shamed by the director of the school for wanting my child to attend maskless. I then took my concerns to the board of directors and was spoken down to by the chairman, who is an employee at University of Lynchburg. He was incredibly disrespectful and very dismissive of my concerns. My daughter, as a result of wearing a mask, now has completed a year of speech therapy and she ended up having to repeat kindergarten as a result of learning loss. The director of the daycare at the time still works at the school and the board of directors chairman also still serves on the board. Don't use this school if you want to be taken seriously when bringing up concerns about your children.
