Eastview Park

I live in Columbia SC and but from Augusta Ga. My mom turned 70 this year so I decided to have her a birthday party. I called Eastview Community Center and spoke with Ms. Jones. She informed me of the cost of the Center. 100 deposit which I will get back after the Center is cleaned, 200 to rent the Center and 20.00 per hour from her to sit there during the event. She said that I will have to provide my own security since I will be serving alcohol, no problem. My party planner called and asked about setup time. Great question so we called Ms. Jones. Spoke with Ms. Jones and she said setup time is in the 4 hours I paid for the party. I said wow had I known that I would not have booked with you guys. Then she said well i can come at 7pm to allow her to set up but that will be another $20.00. I was like really?? She said that the only way she can not charge me if she come set up while she was there. My party planner said cool she was on the way. Ms. Jones said okay because she was waiting on another young lady. We got there and I paid Ms. Jones $200.00 for the building and 80.00 for her sitting there for the 4 hours during the party . Her book keeper was there also waiting checks for other people deposit and she said that she will go ahead and write mine out as well while i was there. My party plan set up but my DJ was not there. I told Ms. Jones and she said well if she came back at 7pm I would have to pay her the 20.00. I said that was fine... I meet my DJ at the center at 6:52pm and waited for Ms. Jones. 7:15 came and she was not there I called her cellphone, no answer. Waited until 7:30 and still no Ms. Jones. I called my sister and she reached out to her and she answered and said she was on the way. She got there at 7:47pm and my DJ and camera man went in and set up. About 8:30 during the party Ms. Jones comes to me and said that I owe her 60.00 more dollars for the party planner setting up. I said no I don't and that is unprofessional to do this during an event. She said well how much did you pay the security guard, I told her that was none of her business. My party planner and my bestfriend all said that's not what she said and she said we may have miss understood her. I said no we didn't because if that was the case you would have asked for the money when she was there setting up and I paid you the $280.00. Also during the event she was asking my servers for food. I informed Ms. Jones I do have her on recording and witnesses on what she said. I feel like she was just nickel and diming me and I will never use that Center again.

Rented the Center at a reasonable rate to celebrate two family members' birthdays simultaneously. The place was extremely spacious and private, with a staff member present for any unexpected guests. The restrooms and kitchen area had sufficient supplies. There's were plenty of tables and chairs. Both sides were used to separate the two parties, but accessible to any guest that attended. If we were to have another celebration, the East View Community Center would be my number one choice.

I always have a great experience at the park. It's very peaceful being there.

I love that place. I hate they took down the basketball goals in the neighborhood park

The facility was just great, for what we needed it for a Brown Family Reunion .
