Yulee, Fla. — A former daycare employee who worked at..... Early Impressions at Midtown Preschool...... in Yulee was arrested on child abuse charges Thursday, according to the Nassau County Sheriff's Office. NCSO says surveillance footage, which they released publicly in full, appears to show Kimberly McNatt, 31, forcefully handle multiple toddlers. The Nassau County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a former daycare employee for child abuse following an investigation at a Yulee daycare. Kimberly McNatt, 31, of Callahan, was arrested Thursday night for child abuse after surveillance footage appears to show her forcefully handle multiple toddlers in her care. The investigation began on August 29 when NCSO received a call from the mother of a victim. The mother reported that the daycare had contacted her the previous day, claiming her child had injured their lip on the side of a bed during nap time. The toddler’s lip was visibly busted open and had bled onto the mattress. The mother also told our investigators that earlier in August, her one-year-old had returned home on several occasions with bruises on their head and back. At the time, she did not suspect abuse, but her concerns grew after learning that McNatt had been terminated from the daycare. Investigators retrieved surveillance video from inside the classroom which shows McNatt aggressively handling the victim and at least one other child. The footage also revealed McNatt cover the child entirely with a blanket, forcibly push another victim’s head to the ground, and yank another child’s legs. “Children are our most vulnerable population and I will do everything in my power to protect them from this kind of heinous abuse,” Sheriff Bill Leeper said. “I want to thank our investigators who worked swiftly to put this suspect behind bars and away from children.” McNatt was booked in the Nassau County Jail & Detention Center on charges of child abuse without great bodily harm.
Unprofessional, disrespectful, unacceptable standards, horrible to children. Key code to door is generic code assigned to everyone. Never returns phone calls, never emails, pathetic. Zero communication skills. Not all staff do not arrive at open. Infants are mixed with larger children from open until almost 9am. Security feed in larger “newer” infant room is inoperable. “Britany” the “director” should be fired. Parents do not send your child here. Spend the extra $5-$20 elsewhere.
Horrible experience for us!! I took my child out immediately when she came home covered in bruises and marks and they denied anything happening. They were very unprofessional when I demanded answers. The manager just spoke loudly behind a desk instead of coming to discuss my concerns. They also sent some other kids belongings home with us.
I have had two children go to this school for VPK and I love them. The staff is very friendly and the teachers have been amazing for my children. My daughter had her end of the year assessment to see if she is ready for kindergarten and she got all 60 questions right. She has learned so much. I highly recommend this schools VPK program!
This facility is very unprofessional. The director does not address any concerns that a parent has and the owner is very unprofessional and rude . Being a owner and a director of a daycare facility there should be clear communication so a parent feels confident and comfortable leaving their children there . This place did not meet expectations.
