Having been with La Frontera for 6 years, I feel confident saying that it's not a good facility to go to. Being in both the adult and children systems, it does not get better. I was hopeful after turning 18 and moving into the adult part with new providers and clinicians it could change my perspective. I was unable to receive any therapy for 3 years while still receiving meds with follow ups every three months. I know I am very fortunate for said fact, but with the amount of nurse practitioners I've met with, it starts to feel like a burden. Especially when they're based out of state but have to still attend the meeting at the clinic to sit in front of a computer. When I was finally able to switch to the adult facilities I received a therapist who was absolutely amazing. She had left due to the lack of respect she received from La Frontera. Furthermore, case managers or recovery coaches changing every few months with no warning or notice can be difficult. I've had to start labeling my contacts with the month/year we started communications. I have received voice mails from my RC but when I return calls with in the next business day (which all employees of la Frontera has a voice mail box set up stating they will call back within that time frame) I cannot get ahold of her. This last therapist I was working with was very self centered, a talked about her trauma and compared me to her and other clients. I found it very unprofessional and uncomfortable to say the least. When I tried explaining the conflicts and expressed I was not comfortable continuing our sessions, she was very rude about it. La Frontera can do better.
I took a 16 hour alcohol awareness course at La Frontera. I had the pleasure of having Trudy Craig as my counselor for the weekend. I can say that it made all the difference in the world taking her course. I learned a lot about myself and how decisions affect a lot of people. Thank you Trudy, you really helped me.
I’ve had nothing but a great experience at la frontera specially with my recovery coach George klug who is awesome
How does ANYBODY ever get services from this failure of a company? *** NOBODY answers the phone!!! Ever!! I've tried since last week!!! ***NOBODY even keeps the appointments they set for intake in establish care *** Nobody returned my calls I've left multiple voicemails and NOBODY was professional enough to return my calls or address why I was blown off for BOTH of my Scheduled appointments I called them bc I'm new to Tucson and explained to them I NEED to establish care and need anxiety meds which I ran out of. I made an appointment for intake, They blew me off and NEVER called. I rescheduled and they did the same thing again. I've been trying to call various locations and NOBODY has EVER returned ANY of my calls or explained to me WHY NOBODY at this company can figure out how to keep the appointments they set with patients???
