What Parents Say
Discovery Time II is highly praised by parents for its caring staff, personalized attention to children, and engaging activities. Parents appreciate the small daycare feel despite its larger size, organized programming including themed summer camps, and convenient app-based communication. Multiple families report long-term enrollment and would recommend the facility.
Grandson went there for four years. Staff was always kind and courteous and cared for our grandson very much. He had about six different teachers thru the years and all were great. They still ask about him when I see them and are always excited to learn how well he is doing at his kindergarten school.
*Long review* Big daycare with a small daycare feel! I am not sure what exact age they start but I think it may be toddler all the way through preschool and before/after school camp. We started last year in the aftercare program after another parent recommendation and have continued through the summer which was ran more like a summer camp. At past daycares, my kids would be pretty bored spending all day at daycare, which caused mom guilt. I can honestly say I don't feel bad dropping them off because I know that they're going to be kept busy and have fun with the friends they have made. The care and attention my kiddos get feels very personalized to their personalities. I have to make a shout out to their primary teacher, Mrs. Allison, she is wonderful. She also plans and prepares the meals for the daycare. My kids love her and the meals...she has even been able to get my youngest to try and like new foods. The summer camp was so organized. Parents were given a calendar of events for June and July. Each week had a fun theme, field trips were planned to try and fit the theme. Ex: science week was filled with fun science experiments as well as a trip to the science center. Parental involvement is welcomed and encouraged. All field trips, meals, activities were covered by their tuition, which was another plus, less for me to remember to pay! 😅 Outside of summer camp, this daycare hosts other fun family events that are often times at no additional cost. A few that come to mind are family nights at River Run in new albany. They also host "donuts with grown-ups." Convenience Almost everything can be done through the app DT uses, updates, payments, changes to contact info or changes in who will be picking your child up etc. Messages through the app are answered promptly. I like that important events get multiple reminders, usually done through multiple methods because like most parents I can be a little scatterbrained. Hours (Per google) 6:30a-6p Mon-Fri They don't close for what I call "bank" holidays but are closed for the religious holidays such as Christmas and Easter, as well as Thanksgiving. They remain open through snow days as long as it is safe of course. Safety and cleanliness The kids classrooms are kept behind locked doors and are not accessed by outside strangers. Your kiddo is signed in and out electronically, which sends and alert to your phone. The daycare is kept very clean. They have similar protocols as NAFCS as far as attendance/illness...which is pretty much common sense. Don't send your kid sick, ie diarrhea, vomiting, fever, pink eye etc. Conclusion No one likes to pay for daycare but in a society where both parents in the household are required to work, DTII has managed to create a community feel centered around families. Your child is not just getting a daycare that keeps them safe while you fulfill your adult duties. 😅 They go above and beyond what most of us expect out of a daycare, my only regret is not finding them until my kids started school.
All four of my children have attended here. The staff goes above, and beyond my expectations every time.
Both of my boys were well taken care of, and enjoyed their time there.
