Discovery Point #60

This child care center has gone above and beyond for both of my babies! My oldest (now 9) spent 6 years here. She attended VPK here, rode the bus to and from school once she attended elementary school, and she had the best time! They are knowledgeable of the children, and each child’s specific needs. My youngest attends this center a few days a week to give me some ME time and they have been angels to her. They are patient, and help with our potty training journey! I get updates all day, if there is a need for immediate attention they do not hesitate. Yolanda is by far the best. She is attentive and my children FEEL and ARE safe here! Once we have a third there is no doubt we will be sending them to Discovery point.

Discovery Point (Symmes) has made me feel like family since day 1. I can tell the staff genuinely care for one another and for our children. As a first time mom, I was nervous leaving my child in daycare. Now, I know everyone’s name and my daughter is always happy going there and I feel she is loved and cared for. Thank you for all you do!

DO NOT enroll your kids at Discovery Point Symmes! Poor customer service, lack of education and manners from staff, horribly rude and very negligent. My wife will pick up my daughter dirty, peed and pooped. My daughter ended up with bad red rash on her private parts more than once. Multiple requests to address issue but no resolution. Staff will force kids to sleep. The other kids as well as my daughter will be dirty everyday. My daughter will come home hungry and she will complain that her teacher will scream and be angry all the time. Poor educational curriculum. Teachers are always mean and in a bad mood. Anyone can just come inside, there’s no safety. They are quick to withdraw your money but they take more than 2 weeks to credit your account. This provider should be investigated for child neglect. I wish my wife and I would of read bad reviews before enrolling her. All the other bad reviews are correct. They are quick to discontinue your kids and in order to not refund you they will let your kids stay until that Friday of that week. From the owner Mary Anne, to Yolanda, to Alexia, to the rest of the teachers have no education whatsoever. Be aware they are nice at the beggining than they start showing their true colors. Again do not enroll your kids, they will end up traumatized.

Both my boys spent most of their daycare years here. I haven't had to worry about my boys adjusting to elementary school, because they already had skills, habits, and knowledge that were developed by the wonderful staff of this daycare. I was able to see who their friends are, kept in-the-know as needed, and my kids thrived and never complained about being here. I was able to work knowing my kids had a well-planned day and were being taken care of and now both my boys will continue to excel in elementary school because their younger years were done right.

Lack of professionalism, lack of education, and staff is very rude and disrespectful. I wouldn’t recommend this provider to anyone. My daughter would be sent home pooped and peed. She would be starving and her teacher Ms. Naina will force her to sleep. My daughter has a heart and asthma condition where her oxygen levels drop when she fall asleep. When I requested for my daughter to do quiet time instead of nap time the owner Mary Anne advised she can discontinue my daughter if she wanted because they are a private facility. Alexia who’s the front desk person has no education she can’t even greet parents when coming in. Yolanda who’s the director was also no help and would give wrong information when I requested the reimbursement assistance from Early learning coalition of Hillsborough county. After all these incidents I knew my daughter was not safe with people like this and I decided to withdraw her. I wish I could do a 0 star but it’s not possible.
