Discovery Montessori School

We had a wonderful experience at this school. The teachers seemed well supported which translated to how they treated the children. You do have to provide (snacks, lunch, water bottle, sheet) unlike our new school, which can be a pain, but overall, it was worth it. She loved her classmates and her teachers. We were very sad to leave. Discovery is a hidden gem.

Administration is horrible with communication! An entire year of mismanagement, late email responses, messed up billing and tons of other issues…They asked us to get an occupational therapist because our child had been biting, we scheduled an appointment with the OT and had an email back and forth with the owner about meeting with her to discuss the same issue, the day came and when we came in for the meeting she ended up asking our son to leave for not being potty trained the week of his third birthday, something that had not been mentioned to us at all in any communication. We told her the teachers had mentioned when he moves to the next class seeing the “big” kids use the potty would help. The owner proceeded to throw her employees under the bus during the meeting blaming them for not telling us the negative things that were happening with our child, saying they’re young and don’t know how to communicate with parents, (not our problem, but a bad look to complain about your employees to people who are paying for your services) By the end of the meeting we thought we came to an understanding and he would have another month to work on potty training and biting, then days later he was kicked out of the school via email for other new issues no one had ever mentioned to us. Don’t even waste your time doing a tour.

We were fortunate enough to be one of the first families to start with this precious preschool when our daughter was 16 months old. We watched them go through the transition to what it became just as we had to relocate out of state, when my daughter was almost 4 years old. Cara, the Business Administrator is such a lovely, caring and intelligent person. And with that, some wonderful, highly educated and talented teachers populate and delicately lead the pristine and beautifully decorated classrooms. I highly recommend this preschool to parents that desire an enriching environment for their little explorers.

Our girls (3 & 4) have only been at Discovery for 7 months but the change in their intellectual, social, and emotional development has been significant. They love their teachers and don't want to leave at the end of the day. We couldn't be happier with their education and development at Discovery.
