Desert Sky Montessori School

We moved to Arizona about 4.5 months ago, and finding the right preschool for our 4-year-old daughter Ariana has been a journey. After a difficult experience at another preschool where Ariana's separation anxiety and social challenges weren't met with understanding, we found Desert Sky Montessori and Paty's leadership has made all the difference. From day one, Paty has embodied what it means to truly support a child and family. She doesn't just say "we're a team" – she shows it in every interaction. When I reach out with concerns, she brainstorms solutions with me, responds thoughtfully to my emails (even on weekends!), and has connected us with valuable resources including psychologists and pediatric nurses. Her commitment goes far beyond what I ever expected from a school director. What sets Paty apart is her genuine investment in Ariana's success. She's an incredibly observant educator who sees each child as an individual. She thoughtfully paired Ariana with a caring 5-year-old student who has been a wonderful support during this transition. She's created a flexible environment that meets Ariana where she is, rather than expecting her to immediately fit a mold. After 2.5 months at Desert Sky Montessori, I finally feel we've found a place where my daughter is truly welcomed and supported. Paty has the resources, the heart, and the dedication to help children through challenges – and that has made all the difference for our family. If you're looking for a school that will partner with you and truly care about your child's wellbeing, I cannot recommend Desert Sky Montessori and Paty's leadership highly enough.

We have our two kids here for preschool. In just a few months our son is writing his name, starting to read and has become a better listener. Our daughter recently started here as well and is doing great. Both kids say they like going to “school”. Definitely happy we have our kids here and recommend it.

We are new to DSM and we love it. This is an academically oriented Montessori program. My son will start kinder next year and I am confident he will be ready. Thanks again DSM!

My daughter has been going here for about a a year. She is in the toddler room. I have seen her grow and develop so much since starting school here. Miss Paty and her staff are amazing! They are sooo good with these kids and really put emphases on education. They always have different events or fun activities going on for the kids. It’s a great little community we are privileged to be apart of!

DSM is such a special place. Our daughter was previously at a private preschool in the area which became very clear was not the right fit. She’s been at DSM as a young 4yo for almost 5 months, and she has developed more independence, is able to manage her emotions much better, and is in the very early stages of reading (had no exposure to reading prior to DSM). She tells me all the time how much she loves learning and talks about the various experiments and activities she’s doing at school. I’m so thankful we found a school with teachers who appreciate who she is and guide her to learn more and more everyday. We’re so excited to send her brother to DSM with her in the Fall.
