DeeDee's was great for the two years we were with them (2022 to 2024). We started with our oldest starting Kindergarten and our youngest starting as an older 3yr old. For the oldest, DeeDees did an amazing job of making sure she got to school and was picked up, even when she was the only student going to her school. This carried through all 2 years. She loved the teachers and made good friends we were sorry to have leave (call-out to Miss M during the summer kids club). Our youngest loved being in the 3s room and made the transition into the 4s doing a great job making new friends. I want to call out Miss C and J from the 3s room for everything they did even when both kids were only there at morning drop off. Miss S, M, and A from the 4s (I know I am missing a few I apologize here), you know the kid is happy when he wants to hug the teachers every morning when he sees them. I also want to call out Miss C, the director, who ran a solid ship, covering when teachers left and always being responsive to the parents. Overall, the teachers cared about the kids, they made sure the kids were given an environment to grow while also limiting their craziness, and we always felt comfortable dropping them off every morning.
I drove past Dee Dee's Place a million times before I finally stopped to check it out for after school care. This is now the end of our first year at Dee Dee's Place. My 6 year old loves it here. Both before and after care during the school year include pick up from nearby elementary schools. My daughter has time to do homework after school and play with friends in a fun, open environment. Full time summer care (Kid's Club) includes regular visits to the pool, numerous field trips and special activities. The staff is friendly, patient and attentive. Sheila the director is present, available and clearly loves and is loved by the children. The facilities are clean and provide ample stimulation and activities for the children. Rates are reasonable. I paid much less for child care last summer at Montgomery County Parks & Recreation's Summer Fun Center, but the staff was also less experienced and the time less structured -- not bad, just okay. I like Dee Dee's Place better, because it includes more educational activities and better organization. I really wanted our daughter to get more of a camp experience for the summer with hours that worked with my schedule. I would definitely recommend this place!
I had a terrible experience here. I was a child being sent here and remember all the terrible experiences that occurred. I remember getting locked in a dark room by the teachers when I wasn’t cooperating(I was 4) and to have a vivid memory of all this is terrifying. I remember the teachers also force-feeding. This place needs a wellness check!
I love this place. The teachers are very nice, and the director. They took my child in, when he was 3years old, and now he is 7 years old. They teach my child the different between right and wrong. They’re doing great things with kids during summer(field trip, BBQ, pool etc….),I really appreciate it what you are doing….
Inquiring about this location last year the director and the staff didn’t sound as welcoming. The locations kept transferring back and forth from the location on New Hampshire Ave and the one near tech Road, when I was only interested with the location on New Hampshire Ave.
