D And K Day Care/Pre-School

Update nearly two years later: I’m still extremely satisfied with D&K Daycare. My daughter is doing very well here and I couldn’t be more pleased with how she’s progressed over the last two years. I can’t begin to express how grateful I am to have found D&K! Edit to add: Nine months later and I'm still very happy with this daycare! My daughter is happy to go here every morning and she's happy when I pick her up. I think Miss Debbie is stellar! I'm admittedly puzzled and slightly apprehensive about the reviews below. However, in the interest of full disclosure I will state that my daughter has only been attending this daycare for a month. Some childcare facilities are more suited to children of certain ages, and I've found it's best to take into account your child's age and choose their care accordingly; when my daughter was very small she attended an amazing in-home daycare. As she's gotten older, a larger facility with lots of children and activities is a better environment for her. Overall I've been fairly content with D&K Daycare in the short time my daughter has attended--she seems happy to go here before school and happy when I pick her up. I've had my daughter at several other daycares over the years and some have been better than others--in comparison to those this daycare seems organized, cheerful, and well-run. Miss Debbie is extremely competent, well-educated (which is what drew me to her and this daycare initially), and interested in helping the kids improve. I will say that I've noticed my daughter has had a near-constant cold this month, but that could simply be from the change of scenery. I think that in general it takes a lot more time to write a thoughtful review than to become offended/misinterpret a situation and quickly post a 1-star review rather than (in the case of the reviewer below who called the state) have a conversation with the owner about one's concerns.

THE BEST DAYCARE IN AREA!! I have taken my girls their for over 3 years now and couldn't be happier. Mrs Debbie has her Drs degree in child psychology and teaches love and logic classes as well as run the daycare. I love the teachers and so do my daughters. I have tried 4 other daycares in the area and 1 at home daycare and was extremely disappointed and concerned I wasnt going to find a safe and good daycare/preschool for them until I found them. Ps- I would have done this sooner if I knew so many bad reviews that are simply just angry parents or employees who didnt pay or do what they were supposed to. Please read resent reviews on google.

I also was surprised by the bad reviews. I cared for my nice and nephew at home from birth until my niece started kindergarten and my nephew was 1 year away. When they started d&k private kindergarten and pre school I was terrified honestly I have always hated to idea of daycare so I stayed home with my son and then those two. Now a year later and they still love it my niece started 1st grade ahead of her class and my nephew is in a reading program at 4 because he is ahead of the kindergarten group and can't get enough of books. Not only have they accelerate at all academics they are happy to go every day. They love miss Debbie and she always in engaged with the kids when I pick up and the time ranges a lot so I don't get the feeling its staged for pick up time, the opposite if I pick them up to early they are upset and do not want to leave or they will miss whatever activity is next. Im glad if they are not with me they are there with D&k

Worst daycare DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE! Many times have I shown up unanounced to find 30+ kids outside with only one teacher. On top of that there are dogs locked in one of the hallways that bark constantly. My final straw was seeing the mowing edging trimming crew outside with the kids and once again one teacher. No more than 20 feet from the kids with those machines!!! So I called the state to ask if they could send someone down to give me peace of mind. They did and when we went to pick up our daughter ms Debbie handed my wife everything and said dont come back. My wife called crying an told me what had happened so I tried calling her and once I told her who I was she said she didn't want to be harassed and hung up. Very immature and unprofessional in my opinion. Save your time and money !

All these bad reviews is surprising. We have used this daycare for all 3 of our girls and we LOVE it! My girls love it and they are so sweet and gentle with my kids. <3 Couldn't imagine going anywhere else!
