Very nice facilities! I came several times to check out the variety of martial arts. I came back to check out the sauna to try the hot and cold therapy! As a facilities engineer and former Chief Engineer, this place need a serious preventative maintenance department before everything fall apart!!!!!
As a Tulsa Jew who has affiliations with Temple Israel and B'nai Emunah, as well as a family member who served under Rabbi Sherman for a few decades on the Board of Trustees - I am appalled at the unprofessionalism and frankly, cold behavior from this organization. Judaism is rooted with certain ethics and morals. These important attributes have not been shown to me through the TJCC. There are a few names in particular that I could list, but I will exhibit tactics in this review. In a nutshell, TJCC should be ashamed of how they operate with certain situations. I remember attending summer camp, going to "lock-in" sleepovers as a young child, and swimming in what felt like a huge pool through the eyes of a young child. My family has close ties to multiple Jews in the Tulsa area. I am disgusted with the way I have been treated. Several people in this administration should be let go in my opinion.
I had an unnervingly terrible experience at this 'community' center. My friend is a member at the gym there. I entered the new and empty building with him and asked the people working at security (2? 3. Maybe more) if i could sit and wait in the new building. The building was entirely empty. There were no humans who did not work protecting the building with the assistance of a wall of cctv monitors. That should have been an indication. They looked at my ID, said yes. I said 'have a good time' before he went into what was..shockingly..an empty gym and i sat down at the 'library' In the next half hour while sitting there reading i was interrupted by an employee every ten minutes or so who felt compelled to interview me again. Who was i? Why was i here? What was i reading? Then the genius interrogators would repeat the same questions that i had answered At the desk, and then every ten minutes. The only real change was the escalation of paranoia , panic , exhaustion and frustration ON THEIR PART. Also the seniority of these people increased with each interrogation I was baffled .i knew that they were suffering from some sort of mental illness or disturbance..i just didnt know which kind Ptsd? Cptsd? Paranoia? Panic attacks. All they did was make me know that no ine should ever come to their community center.. It was personal but it wasnt about me. I left. I stopped reading.i stopped having any kind of good will for them. But it also wasnt personal..their crazy was theirs and theirs alone. Years passed . New versions of the old wars have begun again and i was reminded that past trauma can make you Twitchy and paranoid and escalate neutral situations into problems..and problems into disasters.
Counselors and administrators were great! They were very accommodating and made all campers feel welcome. The activities were awesome. Both of our boys loved it! They will be back next summer for sure!ππΌππΌ
Excellent camp our daughter loves with different programming from week to week. The counselors are great.
