What Parents Say
Countryside Montessori School receives overwhelmingly positive feedback from parents, with most praising the individualized Montessori approach, kindergarten preparedness, and on-site farm animals. Parents report their children thrived academically and socially, developing independence and life skills. One parent expressed concerns about the school's suitability for children with developmental or transition difficulties.
We are sending our fourth child to Countryside in the fall. Our children have very different temperaments and personalities and have all thrived at Countryside. They have also been very prepared to enter kindergarten. The addition of farm animals on-site has only added to the already wonderful school environment. Allowing the children to take care of the animals was a great experience for our child. Each of our children have loved attending Countryside and they continue to love learning!
We loved sending our triplets to this school. They learned life skills as well as academics. Our shy little trio actually made friends with other kids and came home knowing so much each week. They LOVED going to school from day 1 and have missed it since it ended in the spring. The animals on site were a ton of fun for the kids to see the baby lambs, chickens, and ducks. The kids had fun doing chores and learned to do so much that they are doing now at home.
I will send all my children here! I absolutely love the learning styles and hands on work. My son has become so independent.
I have sent three of my children to Countryside Montessori (CMS) for preschool. I originally chose CMS because I was so impressed by the director's own (older) children and how much they valued learning for its own sake. I have not been disappointed! Mrs. Smith and her staff truly love children and have worked well with each of my three boys (who are widely different in temperament and interests). CMS doesn’t try to fit children into a box or march them through a particular set of skills at a set pace. Rather, CMS takes an individualized approach to fostering and nurturing each child’s innate love of learning and to developing self-discipline and the habits of successful learners. That being said, each of my children has arrived at kindergarten well prepared for the challenges of traditional school. To give a few examples from my most recent preschooler: he was able to come home from school and lead me through the process of making St. Lucia buns from scratch (I had never made them before.). Together we made them for a family breakfast. Another time, we were asked to complete “farm chores” at the preschool one weekend. He was able to explain and lead me in the entire process of feeding and caring for the animals – chicks, sheep – and in gathering sap from the maple trees. From working on math at school, he was usually able to solve my first grader’s homework problems. I highly recommend CMS and am excited to send my fourth child to CMS in the near future!
If your kid has any sort of minor developmental type behaviors (transition difficulties and refusals) just look elsewhere for preschool.
