What Parents Say
Clackamas Day School receives consistently positive feedback from parents across all age groups, from infants through school-age children. Parents praise the caring and attentive staff, quality educational programs, flexible scheduling, and welcoming environment. Multiple long-term families report high satisfaction and would recommend the center.
My daughter is 13 months old and has been attending since she was 2 months old. The staff there are absolutely amazing, so caring and sweet to my baby. They send daily report cards home with info on the diaper changes, feeding and naps. So bummed that we moved out of state, I can't imagine finding anyone as great. Thank you Clackamas Day School!
My 3rd old son goes here, he’s only 2 days a week but he loves his teachers. He struggles with drop off sometimes but the teachers are so great with comforting him! The staff is amazing and caring.
My daughter, who is now 5, has gone to this daycare center since she was 3 months old - I now have a 10 month old who has gone since he was 3 months old as well. I have nothing but wonderful things to say! They have been so accommodating with mine and my husbands work schedules, making sure we aren't overpaying for care when our kids aren't there. I would remind others reading these poor reviews that this is one person(s) perspective and I'm willing to bet not the overwhelming majority. My kids are well cared for and as a mother that's all you could ever want when you don't have the option of staying home.
Our 7 year old loves coming here. He started here when he was 5, so I cannot speak to the quality of the care for younger children, but for before/after school care, we are very happy with Clackamas Day School. The summer camp is also a big hit with our 7 year old. Constant, fun outings are the norm and he has been making lots of new friends on a regular basis. He also sings the praises of a number of his teachers. My interactions with the staff have ranged from excellent to adequate over the last two years and I have never had a negative interaction with anyone there. I should also mention that our child has never had a behavioral issue that we have been made aware of while at Clackamas Day School and I have never been called to come pick him up due to illness, though I tend to not send him to school/after school care if he is already sick.
My experience with this daycare was horrible. I do not recommend it at all. My daughter, 5 years old, was put into the 4's class on Fridays because her school is only M-Th. I was told that since she was 5-going-on-6 she would not have to nap for 2 hours like the other 4 year olds. She told me after about a month or so of attendance that they made her lay there quietly for 2 hours - no books, no toys or quiet games to occupy her mind. She said it was like torture. She said the teacher was really mean, always snatching toys out of kids hands and yelled all the time. We are not yellers in our home so it gave my daughter massive anxiety to the point where she would cry and beg me not to leave her. I pulled her as soon as she told me what was really going on. It was my first public daycare experience and has scarred me for life. In my opinion, that teacher should be fired. I would give it zero stars if I could. My daughter still talks about the horrible experience and is so thankful that she doesn't have to attend Clackamas Day School any longer.
