My son and daughter have the fondest of memories of ACP. All the teachers are worth writing home about (too many to list here)--with an extra shout out to Ms. Sandy and Ms. Early. My kids also rave about Ms. Leigh's activities of bringing petting farm animals as a special treat for suburban kids who do not ordinarily experience farm life. Ditto the art and craft projects hanging on the wall in my office. I remember a couple of times when I forgot my child's bedding so after the drop-off I went home to retrieve it and Ms. Amani thoughtfully hand-delivered it for me to prevent my child from starting to cry. My wife and wholeheartedly recommend getting on ACP's waitlist for any family new to the area. ACP has to be one of our favorite discoveries in Fairfax that I hope your kids will cherish the memories as much as my kids.
I could not love A Child's Place any more than I do. My son has been in the infant room since I returned to work at 11 weeks, he is now 1. The women in the infant room are like family to us, and care for him as if he was their own child. They listen to me and respect choices I make in raising my child, but also help us encourage him as he learns new skills and developments. They offer enriching programs, music, visiting events, and serve what seems to be decently healthy food. The director and assistant director are wonderful and love all of the children at the center. The other wonderful thing is that it is all above ground in a cute little campus setting with different playgrounds for different age groups. Even the infants sit outside in the shade when the weather is nice. We really love everything about this place from the setting to the activities, to each and every person that has cared for our son there.
My daughter has been going there for almost two years now and absolutely loves her teachers and classmates. They have fun activities and events. They do a great job making learning fun. When she was in the infant room she came home knowing a little sign language, in the toddler room she learned good manners: saying please and thank you, and is now being potty trained in the Trainers class. My son just recently started there so I get to see all of my daughter's previous teachers again.
I cannot describe how much I love this place for our kids. Miss Leigh and miss Amani (who manage the place) are so thoughtful and kind. Everybody LOVES them. And the teachers are all fantastic.
