My daughter enjoys going to LCCC Discovery Center and has made some great friends, which I truly appreciate. However, I have concerns about the level of care and supervision from the staff. Drop-offs and pickups often feel unorganized, with little acknowledgment from teachers, making it easy for a child to walk out or be taken by someone they shouldn’t. This issue was brought up in a Zoom parent meeting but has yet to be addressed responsibly. Additionally, there have been multiple incidents where my child has come home injured or something has happened, and the teachers seemed unaware. I understand that accidents happen, but the lack of communication and attentiveness is concerning. On top of that, considering this preschool is part of the college, I’m surprised that LCCC doesn’t offer any kind of discount for currently enrolled students. With the amount that students pay for tuition and fees, you’d think there would be some form of financial relief for those balancing school and childcare. The center has potential, but the staff needs better training, and some policy changes could make a big difference for both safety and affordability.
