Children'S Cottage Of Wilmington

As a mom of three kids who attend Children’s Cottage of Wilmington, I couldn’t be happier with our experience. The teachers are incredibly caring, attentive, and truly invested in each child’s growth and happiness. My kids love going to school and come home excited about what they’re learning. The communication is excellent, and I have complete peace of mind knowing my children are in such a safe, nurturing environment. I highly recommend Children’s Cottage to any family looking for exceptional care and education.

I paid over $100 Deposit in early 2025 to get my toddler and soon-to-be-born infant enrolled. Once my 2nd was born, I called the center and emailed Amy multiple times with absolutely no response. It was two weeks before I had to return to work and I found an alternate option. MONTHS later, after several more phone calls and emails, she said she would mail me a check to refund my deposit. I never received the check. It's been over a year and I'm still trying to get my deposit money back. They took my money and completely ghosted me.

I would not recommend this daycare due to how unprofessional the director, Amy, is. After unenrolling my son, I was charged $140 by mistake. When I reached out, Amy told me it was a system error, but after that she completely stopped responding to me despite my repeated attempts to follow up. The lack of communication and accountability from her has been extremely frustrating and unprofessional. On the other hand, I do want to acknowledge the positives. My son’s teachers, Heather and Skyler, were absolutely wonderful — very patient, understanding, and caring toward my child. Kendra, the assistant director, was also respectful and helpful whenever I had questions. Unfortunately, because of the poor leadership and lack of communication from the director, I cannot recommend this daycare overall.

Our son has been at Childrens Cottage for 2.5 years and we have had such a wonderful experience! Our first impression of the daycare was leaps and bounds above any of the other options that we toured initially… it is clean, organized, and filled with fun activities for all of the kids. Watching our son grow into the different classrooms with his friends, we have always trusted the teachers and felt how much they truly care about his development, his safety, and the communication with our family. Our son has made so many wonderful connections with the teachers and grown into such a social, fun, silly, confident toddler— I hope that this experience of daycare will result in friendships that he continues into his young years ahead, with many thanks to the group at Childrens Cottage :)

When I got the call my first son’s slot opened in the infant room back in 2020, I truly said to the director “thank you for making my daycare dreams come true”and that statement still stands strong today with my two sons attending now. My experience with my two boys attending the Children’s Cottage has been lovely. Ms. Tammi & Ms. Sherry are truly the best teachers a mom could hope for .. they are nurturing, structured and communicate my child’s needs regularly. Very thankful to have landed this “power team” as we embark on our 4th year attending this sweet daycare.
