What Parents Say
This facility is not a daycare but a youth shelter for homeless individuals ages 18-22 in Atlanta. Residents consistently praise the comprehensive support services, caring staff, nutritious meals, job training programs, and stable housing assistance that have helped them transition out of homelessness.
Covenant House has been a HUGE stepping stone for me. I first moved in 2019 for 8 months and then left but found myself coming back 2020 for over a year. The programs they offer are highly beneficial. I got into my first apartment through them. And after that apartment I branched off into a newer apartment that just finished building last year. I’ve been experiencing homelessness since I was 17. I allowed myself to let the Covenant House be my place of stillness. Moving from place to place made me realize that energy was not going to give me the stability I needed and wanted regarding my housing situation. Very thankful for the beautiful staff that made the place seem like a home. And very grateful for the volunteers that always made food for us and donated generous gifts around the holidays. Any struggles that you are facing God will always take care of them… you just have to meet them half way. 🤍🙏🏽
The numerous disheartening reviews have led me to reconsider my participation and donation to your sleepout event. I believe it would be beneficial to gain a clearer understanding of the individuals managing this home and their operational procedures, along with increased transparency.
Covenant house Is a shelter but also has programs. The Rights of passage program is very poorly managed. You are told to go to staff if you have problems. Or right a grievance. Me and others had countless issues with a resident and from The Rights of passage program went through the grievance process and nothing was done. Problems continued apparently it they had been going on before I was there with other residents. Eventually both me and another resident were kicked out with no where to go because of problems we were having and were vocal about this one resident. They don't assist residents. And they are not reliable.
Originally I'm not from Atlanta I moved here from Baltimore and I was homeless I don't know how but I found covenant house and it saved my life , I don't know where I would of been if it wasn't for the Cov .... The food is A1 you get breakfast and dinner , the staff treat you like family , all the residents cool you really wouldn't stumble across any problems if you just stay to your self and not try to be a social butterfly . They got all kinds of programs , resources, anything you need to get you back on your feet . Don't pay attention to no negative reviews because if you go to another shelter in Atlanta it's 10x worst and some won't even feed you . I'm grateful for this place and they helped me get even close to God . The covenant house is my adopted family and I hope they continue to go higher than where they already are ! Don't listen to the negative reviews I think you should test the waters yourself and see if it's hot or cold , I took the leap of faith and it changed my life for the better
I loved volunteering here with the youth for MLK Day 2024! The youth were very engaged, focused, and enjoyed the event. They each mafe vision boards that catered to their specific goals & desires. I appreciated each of them for allowing us to lead them for the day. It was such a pleasure. I look forward to volunteering again in the future! The staff members were very helpful and professional! See you all soon.
