We’re not here to gloat — but we are proud. This 10U season, our son scored the most points overall. He worked hard, stayed committed, and gave everything on that court. So naturally, it was disappointing to see that he wasn’t selected for All-Stars, what makes it sting even worse is the team was already chosen before getting the end of season stats!! There is a continued pattern that certain voices seem to carry more weight than performance and effort. And to make matters worse, the All-Star team is always coached by the same person — the very one who seems to think he runs the entire program. It’s no secret around Camden County that certain individuals believe they control PSA and its decisions. When we were once approached about our son playing football for him, I didn’t hesitate — the answer was absolutely not. We’ve seen firsthand the environment he creates. “His” athletes are taught disrespect instead of discipline. Profanity is normalized instead of corrected. That’s not leadership, and it’s not what youth sports should be about. It’s honestly disgusting to watch adults misuse positions of influence while pretending it’s “for the kids.” The ones who suffer most are the children who just want to play, grow, and be treated fairly. Luckily the coaches that we know, we make it a point for our kids to be on their teams. They choose values over favoritism. This kind of environment is exactly why great coaches end up leaving. When money and connections are valued more than integrity and hard work, everyone loses — especially the kids. In my families prayer, we pray that the PSA will open its eyes and heart to see how simple — and how impactful — the positive changes it would make for the good of the entire community.
Not sure about the facility but Summer Camp Staff are not properly trained to work with kids. Would use camp as last resort, does not provide breakfast or lunch for $150 a week. I packed my son’s lunch and they did not ensure he had it during lunch time. My son did not eat and started eating his lunch when I picked him up. Teens on their phones not paying attention to the children. Again this is a last resort option and I do not recommend it at all for camp.
They close the pool at 12 on the weekends. I guess working people who have memberships just suck it up.
They got a pretty decent gym inside. Enough to keep ya healthy. I'd like to see more real weight machines. A cabled, seated low-row with at least a 340 lb max would be great. The current cross cables rig only allows a 195 lb max. Stifling in that respect. Clean showers & restrooms. An otherwise great place with a wide variety of classes & equipment to keep ya busy within their limited hours of operation. :)
Staff is super friendly and helpful. Love the variety of classes they got. Some people say it's dirty, but I disagree. They're always cleaning and have disinfectant for people to clean the equipment after use.
