Saddened to have to leave a one‑star review after having such a positive experience with our first child here for several years. Unfortunately, our second child did not receive the same level of care. The first three months were great. However, once she moved into Nursery 2, we noticed a lack of care almost immediately. The lead teacher told me one day that my child “didn’t like her,” which was the first red flag. Communication after that felt less like collaboration and more like constant complaints, she’s not eating, she’s cranky, she’s not sleeping... many of which directly contradicted the daily sheet. One day we received so many messages that it felt like we were being told to come get our child. We checked her out early, only to find she was eating, sleeping and seemed completely fine. We took a one‑week break because it felt clear she wasn’t connecting with the staff. Unfortunately, on her very first day back, the same “complaint‑style” messages immediately started again, despite me clearly explaining at drop‑off that she was teething and preferred real food over milk. Our child was not sick and does not randomly vomit, yet we received a message saying she threw up shortly after we stopped by to give her Tylenol for teething. As the messages continued, we again decided to check her out early. When we arrived, she could be heard crying. One teacher was cleaning, another was sitting on the floor playing with two happy babies. Our child was alone in her crib. We were told, “She’s been cranky all day.” Her face was bright red, covered in snot, and she was sitting in her own vomit and a dirty diaper. While she was teething and had multiple dirty diapers that day, leaving her isolated, screaming to the point of vomiting, while no other child was in distress, is neglect. My husband was visibly upset when we left that day. Hours later, after business hours, we received multiple notifications that her daily sheet had been updated. Someone altered her record after she had already been checked out to say she “fell asleep while drinking a bottle.” No one should be able to access or edit a child’s daily sheet after checkout, especially after hours. I later noticed other days had also been altered and notes deleted. The director reviewed the camera footage and told us that “unfortunately her crib was out of sight,” so they could not determine how long she had been left in that condition. I requested to view the footage myself and was told she did not have the authority to show it to me. There was no refund offered for the week we paid for while our child was neglected, and we never received a response to our formal withdrawal.
My kiddos have been attending Cadence Academy for over two years now. I’ve had nothing short of an amazing experience with all teachers & staff! The teachers here have loved my babies as their own through all of their phases and are wonderful with daily communication. I can’t say enough about them all! If I ever have a question or concern, it is answered or addressed almost immediately by a teacher or the director, Heather. Heather does an excellent job greeting parents in the morning, answering questions, and making sure the facility is squeaky clean, smells nice, and decorated to match the season! The staffing is consistent and my kiddos have had the same lead teachers in all of their classrooms. That speaks volumes for a daycare facility and the management! Teachers are always doing something fun or creative with the kids and Cadence puts on all kinds of fun events throughout the year. One of the things I love most about Cadence is the security measures put in place. You cannot enter the building OR the hallways without a specific code designated for each pick-up/drop-off contact. Previous to Cadence, my children attended two other very well-known daycares in the area. Let me just say… I am SO thankful we made the switch! 10/10 recommend
My 3 year old has been attending cadence since he was an infant and his soon to come sister will also attend. We have overall had a great experience here with the teachers being outstanding.
Our daughter attended Cadence from 4 months to 2.5 years. **Pros:** Caring teachers. **Cons:** Poor communication, disorganized administration, high teacher turnover. We stayed mainly because of the teachers, but they often lacked the support needed for effective care. The staff-to-child ratios changed after enrollment, prompting teacher departures. Temporary staff often had limited experience and struggled with age-appropriate concerns. It was not uncommon for teachers to be unaware if/when communications went to parents from the Director. Concerns raised to the Director often went unanswered for days or were deflected. I had to proactively catch her in person to address issues, with responses frequently inadequate regarding sickness, biting, teacher instability, and inaccurate billing. The app for updates was inconsistent; I received few photos each month, often outdated, and it hindered direct communication with teachers. Messages had to go through the office, which sometimes led to missed information. Security protocols were also inconsistent, with shared building codes.
We have been at Cadence since our son was 8 weeks old, he is now 2 1/2. We’ve seen the school through a lot of transitions and can honestly say that the current leadership team and staff is the best we’ve seen over this time. We really appreciate the transparent communication we receive from our teachers and leadership! I also enjoy the atmosphere they are creating within the school and look forward to the continued growth of our school and teachers!
