Butterfly Bunch

Katie’s Kids (now Butterfly Bunch - South Campus) took our deposit money no problem. We toured and let them know 6 months ahead we were expecting our first baby in October and were looking to start daycare around April the following year. We were told by the manager we would be put on a waiting list but were almost guaranteed we should have a spot by April. Flash forward we called in the spring, summer, fall, early winter and kept being told we’re still on the waitlist but they couldn’t give us a number of how many kids were ahead of us and were just told to wait until we received word our daughter had a spot. Additionally, they often would not return our messages to check on our status and we’d have to call back multiple times to speak with someone. Meanwhile in the spring we had to scramble to find family to watch our daughter (we both work) until we could find another daycare (multiple waitlists in the royal oak area at the time). I naively had only applied for Katie’s Kids’ waitlist. It was very stressful especially since we were first time parents. Picking/ trusting a daycare with your precious baby is stressful enough. We ended up finding another daycare that we love, thankfully. Just wanted to give a heads up to parents. I would have backup plans if you choose to go on a waitlist with Butterfly Bunch. It is has been 4 years and we are still on the “waitlist.” I have been told by a couple other families we aren’t the only family who had this experience with BB (formerly Katie’s Kids). They were quick to take deposit money without realistically having a spot for a child in a reasonable amount of time.

My two children have attended Butterfly Bunch since they were each three months old. The teachers are wonderful, and we are happy with the new addition of a pre-K GSRP program.
