What Parents Say
Building Blocks Learning Center receives highly polarized reviews. Six parents praise the caring staff, cleanliness, and child development, while four parents report serious concerns including staff turnover, security issues, unsanitary conditions, safety hazards, and inaccurate documentation.
Allison is rude and disrespectful. She does not work with anyone, she is "strictly business". But when I bring her problems about the class and my child she makes excuses as to why nothing is getting done. The daily sheets would say dry all day but never accurate. She had the audacity to belittle me in front of my child. There is one great thing about this place which is Ms. Haley. She is an amazing teacher
Staff is mostly teens and/or recent grads. They are nice but you can tell they don't have a passion for childcare and/or don't intend on staying long. Turnover is moderate to high for staff and customers. Our kids would go through 3-4 teachers a day which is way too much inconsistency for a child to have. Front door doesn't actually stay locked/shut most the time and staff isn't always paying attention to front/halls (security risk). Not even asked to fill out much paperwork and payments due "whenever" which shows lack of a solid business model. Saw on multiple occasions kids trying to play with AC units, brought to owners attention, nothing done to fence off (safety & insurance risk). Staff wouldn't pay attention to special diets much and couldn't account for special food we brought. Paperwork constantly said "dry" diapers or ate everything but wasn't accurate. Our kids started to regress while picking up bad habits (watched TV, played with broken toys, wrestled instead of doing activities to engage and encourage development). Staff would clean with kids around (bleach and other chemicals) and enclose the kids in the same room (extremely unsafe). Overall verdict: cheap price for those who need it but not worth the compromise you'll have to make in my opinion. Find a different place that has it together more, has a passion for child development, and is putting money back into the business and not their vehicles.
Alison is a very nice individual and likes everything clean and nice she is very respectful to me and my kids. Tasha is also really nice to everyone. But if I had to say who was my favorite and my child’s favorite I would have to say McKenzie she was very nice to my kids and me very respectful
My children are approaching their one year with Building Blocks. One of my children is on the spectrum and the staff is amazing with him. They are well organized and almost always in a good disposition. This is a private business, not like corporate daycares that are managed by bean counters and don't care about anything but the bottom dollar, they truly care. They have 2 locations in Mustang about 3 miles apart, and they transport to Trails on SW 15th St. If you are in the Mustang school system, looking for a safe place to leave your babies, I recommend calling them.
It smells like anybody and everybody in that building goes to the bathroom on the floor. It reeks of urine as soon as you step inside. I don’t know if they just don’t have a maintenance crew or are short staffed, but it is horrendous. I understand kids are kids but any other daycare I have been too, it doesn’t smell like a portapotty. My kids will never go there. Disgusting.
