What Parents Say
Building Blocks Child Care Center has highly polarized reviews. Two parents praise the facility's cleanliness, friendly staff, and support with potty training and language development. However, eight parents report serious concerns including staff inattentiveness and phone use, physical handling of children, neglect of basic care needs, poor security, unprofessional behavior, inadequate supervision, and unsanitary conditions.
Terrible daycare. If you care about your child’s well-being do not bring your child here. No matter how desperate. The teachers are constantly on their phones in the infant room. While the babies are crying. Witnessed the teacher grab my 1 year old by the arm off the ground and swing him over to her, because he was crying and upset. I ran in to get him and told her what I saw her do on the cameras. She immediately denied it and the other director Kim did not care what I had to say and jumped to her defense.. Summary is nobody there cares to put any energy into the children, they pass their time on there phones texting and ignoring the kids. My son went there 3 weeks and is never going back. It’s honestly disgusting and tragic. I hope they get shut down.
Our experience with this daycare was extremely disappointing and concerning. We encountered multiple issues that ultimately led us to withdraw our child from their care. One of the most troubling incidents involved a worker neglecting to provide training underwear and diapers for our child. Despite our child having diapers and training underwear in their cubby, the worker claimed otherwise and only put pants on him. . This lack of attention to basic needs was unacceptable. Additionally, we found the lack of consistency and professionalism from the directors to be concerning. The daycare seemed to close arbitrarily, demonstrating a lack of reliability and accountability. Fortunately, we were able to find a more suitable daycare and transition our child within two weeks. Please parents, I know it's hard finding childcare this day and age, but please save the headache you'll experience with this daycare.
I didn’t send my child here. I scheduled a tour. Showed up at the scheduled time and there was no one in the office. That’s understandable so I waited several minutes. There was a toddler staring and waving at me from the classroom on the other side of the office. I waved back and then heard the ‘teacher’ scream at her to get away from the (gated) door. Shortly after, I grew tired of waiting and opened the door to the back portion of the building. I don’t like how there is zero security measures in place at all. The building was extremely empty for a daycare. I finally found a worker who was in conversation and on her phone and didn’t notice me for another few moments. She wasn’t dressed in what I’m accustomed to daycare workers wearing- but that would be overlooked. I explain I’m here for a tour and she walks off down the hall yelling to someone else that ‘some lady here for a tour?’ So I go back up front. 5 more minutes later another woman comes up and says has anyone been up here yet? I say No and I’m aggravated by now. She says oh let me call my mom and walks off again. I just leave at this point. It’s dirty. Unprofessional. Disorganized. And as desperate as I was for childcare, I wasn’t desperate enough to put my child thru this.
Of course you only see the bad reviews on here because no one has cared enough to write a good one. I for one absolutely love this facility and would recommend it to anyone looking for a place for their children. The staff has been nothing but friendly and if I have ever had a problem i never felt uncomfortable taking it to any of the staff there so i could get it resolved. My son was relentless about potty training and didn't want to have any part of it, but they helped me with this and he has been potty fully potty trained for 6 months. My children hated me leaving them at first and now they love going to daycare so they can play with their friends. 5 year old is bi-lingual and had a hard time with her English and they were very understanding and accommodating with our needs. They also have signs on their doors regarding the food allergy issue stating that no outside food is to be brought in because many of their kids have food allergies. They have signs posted as well for the teachers to remind them what kid is allergic to what foods.
Do not send your children here!! My niece went here for a while, worst experience ever! We were called at least once a week to come get her. It was either that she was coughing, had diarrhea, or was just not feeling well. What infant doesn't cough from time to time? As for diarrhea, there really is a difference in runny baby poop and diarrhea, and they don't know the difference. We would be asked to pick her up as soon as she had one runny baby poop. It seemed that they had too many children at the time and just want to be bothered, so they would just call parents to come get some of them. Her face, hands and clothes were always dirty when we picked her up. She often came home in another child's clothing? She would come home with generic diapers on instead of the name brand ones I had sent for her. The final straw was when they let her turn a chair over on her and she came home with a black eye Do not send your child here. Keep looking.
