A Perfect Fit After a Long Search After a brief experience at another daycare where my son needed more individualized attention, we decided to hire a nanny to provide the one-on-one care he required. As he grew and started crawling, it became clear he needed more stimulation and social interaction than we could provide at home. We toured several Bright Horizons locations, but Harrison Park was the only one with availability—and I’m so grateful it worked out this way! Even though it’s out of the way for us, my son genuinely looks forward to going every single day, which tells me everything I need to know. I have to give special recognition to Mrs. Muriel Irvin, who was incredibly patient during our adjustment period. My son didn’t nap at all in those early weeks, which I know couldn’t have been easy, but Mrs. Irvin handled it with such grace and understanding. She provides detailed updates about the different skills and concepts he’s grasping while at school, which gives me such peace of mind knowing he’s not just being watched, but truly nurtured and educated. Harrison Park has been exactly what our family needed, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. The staff’s dedication and Mrs. Irvin’s exceptional care have made all the difference for our son’s development and happiness.
Our son has loved going here so far, he seems to have a ton of fun and we believe he gets a lot of mental, social, and sensory stimulation while he's here. Love the updates throughout the day and the pictures they send are always great. His teachers are absolutely wonderful and give amazing feedback on how his day went or advancements he has made. They work so hard to take care of him and he loves them. The center also hosts several activities throughout the year for the kids that are so fun and cute like fall fest, stem fest, truck day, etc. Really happy with our experience here!
First and foremost, there are some exceptional curriculum coaches and teachers at Harrison park! My son had a wonderful first 2 years. Unfortunately, his 2s experience was less than ideal. He had six teachers in 7 months. My lil dude doesn’t do great with inconsistency due to his autistic older brother and looks to his parents & adult support system to help regulate. Unfortunately, his last teacher and him did not jive. He was anxious and crying on his way to school which was never a thing prior to her entry. The last few months we were at BH the administration recommended an OT for my son. We happily got one because we love OTs ( they have helped my older son evolve a ton). After an evaluation and half an dozen seasons she assured us that my son was typically developing and when she asked the teachers in my son’s class they really didn’t have a lot of examples except that he was having meltdowns. Which is understandable seeing that they didn’t have the bandwidth to give much 1 on 1 attention. So much so that my son tried to escape the room twice / act out for attention. After that they deemed him “ unsafe” and put him on a 90 day suspension. He is 2. We obviously left the school permanently because we felt a) it’s their job to make sure he stays in the classroom 2) I started to get anxious going to school and questioned my parenting 3) they were clearly pushing us out and we both work full time and we can’t have our kid out of school for 3 months. All this to say, bright horizons is a publicly traded company and if you don’t fit the rigid mold they push you out. But it was a blessing because now we have our happy son back and he isn’t spinning out and trying to escape his new school. I share this now 2 months after the incident because I just want to save parents time. If your kid isn’t an angel or may have a difficult situation at home this may not be the place for your family. We found that the administration lacked empathy. Just our experience.
I cannot say enough good things about Bright Horizons at Harrison Park. When we first started, my strong-willed 2-year-old was apprehensive—drop-offs were tough, and he refused all food. But thanks to the incredible staff, he has truly thrived. Now, he tells me he needs more time when I come to pick him up and looks forward to seeing his teachers and friends every day. What stands out the most is the sense of community. Every staff member knows my son by name as we walk the halls, and it’s clear how much they care. The long tenures of many teachers speak volumes about the environment they’ve created. We’re so grateful to be part of this school!
My daughter has been going to Bright Horizons for a couple years now and it has been a great experience. The staff is always friendly and helpful. My daughter’s teacher Ms. Mira makes sure to provide us with updates about her day, and has been great with her development. Would definitely recommend it for other parents.
