Bright Horizons At Kendall Park

As a former Guidepost Montessori mom, I still carry so much gratitude for the time my child spent there. Even though we’ve moved on, I can truly say those months laid such a strong foundation for who my child is today. Guidepost gave us more than just academics—it nurtured independence, confidence, and a love of learning that continues to shine through. The teachers treated every child with such respect and care, creating a calm, joyful environment where curiosity was celebrated. I always felt supported as a parent, too—Guidepost partners with families in such a unique way. Looking back, I’m so thankful for the growth, memories, and values my child gained there. Guidepost will always hold a special place in my heart, and I would recommend it wholeheartedly to any parent looking for a school that truly honors children and helps them flourish. 🌿✨

Ms. Laura is great at Guidepost in Kendall Park! The campus is beautiful and the staff is so well-trained! The school is tucked away so it doesn't get a lot of shine from the main roadways, but it's the hidden gem away that makes it very unassuming and great. My almost-four year old loves Guidepost and her guides and all her friends...it's awesome!

I am writing this post not because my children did not have great experiences at the school but because to date I have yet to receive the refund that is owed to me after my child left the school as of September. After multiple calls and reassurances, and per the contract that was signed with the school I am supposed to receive monies that are overpayed based on the deposit and last months tuition. I am now making this public as a word of caution for any families who may find themselves in a similar situation in the future or for any families currently experiencing this to highlight a potential bigger issue.

We really wanted to love Guidepost Montessori in Kendall Park NJ, but we've had issues since we started there with our 9 month old. There has been constant turnover of leadership at the school. The assistant head of school changed in the few months between our tour and our son's first day. The head of the school left two weeks into our son's experience, and that position remains vacant month later. Meanwhile, the current assistant head of school is somehow handling all administrative needs, teaching part-time in the Nido classroom, and will be leaving on maternity leave this fall. I honestly feel terrible for her! We have generally found staff to be pleasant, our son was always happy at school, but there were certainly staffing issues. The ratio was regularly five to one when I would drop my son off in the morning. There were many days when we did not receive daily photographs, and this school does not offer a camera option. I also had to keep on top of my son's daily tracker because he would sit in the same diaper for up to 3 1/2 hours at a time! Even on his last day of school, he came home in a diaper that was so full of urine it had soaked into his shorts. I think the staff is kind and well-meaning, but they are understaffed, overworked, and the kids suffer because of it. Basic care needs are often not met. We were grateful to be moving, and knew that our son would only be here for a few short months. I did explore the guidepost in our new town and found it to be further understaffed, so we've moved on from guidepost entirely. It's really a shame, the campus is beautiful but I think the staff is set up to fail and basic care needs and minimum state requirements are not being met at this school.

We enrolled our son into the Kendall Park guidepost about a month ago and we’ve had a great experience so far! Ms Saba and the guidepost teachers / staff have been very loving and welcoming to our son and our family. They’re always available to answer any questions we have. Our son is also doing great and we’ve observed some amazing new skills and developmental milestones in the last couple weeks and overall we are very happy with our decision!
