What Parents Say
Parents consistently praise Bright Horizons Kansas Street for high-quality care, engaged and happy children, and responsive staff. The facility features excellent amenities including outdoor space, STEM lab, and art studio, with flexible hours and strong communication. One parent noted concerns about classroom transitions, teacher judgment about appearance, and reward-based discipline systems, but still recommended the center.
We have been with Bright Horizons for 2.5 years and believe this has been the highest quality daycare and experience we could find. The staff remains consistent, knowledge and very creative when it comes to activities for our infant now turned toddler. The leadership is very communicative and active with the community. We felt part of a community rather than just dropping our child off - Sadly we had to move location but Bright Horizons will always hold a special place in our heart.
Bright Horizons has made a wonderful difference for our loved ones. My son is maintained busy, engaged, and secure all day. He's excited each day to go to college (that was not true in our prior daycare) making all of the difference to us as parents. The team is amazing and the hours are adapting to our crazy schedules. Easily 5 stars.
Bright Horizons has made an amazing difference for our family. My son is kept active, engaged and safe all day. He is excited every day to go to school (this wasn't the case at our previous daycare) which makes all the difference to us as working parents. The staff is amazing and the hours are accommodating to our crazy schedules. Easily 5 stars.
Our daughter went to Bright Horizons on Kansas St. for preschool. It was a very positive experience for her development. The facilities are top notch with multiple “gyms” / movement rooms, excellent outdoor space (where they take kids twice a day!), newly expanded new wing that includes a STEM room, and an art studio. Only downside is that the rooms in the back aren’t getting much natural lighting. Socially, my daughter made some of her best friends there that we still stay in touch with now in elementary school, she learned to play and share, and the school celebrates traditions like birthdays, Halloween and graduation where the class prepares a show for the parents. They had lots of sensory play, introduction of science / the human body, alphabet (kids sign themselves in by their last year at preschool), excellent toilet training, and lots of reading and free dramatic play. They even had water play in the summer. Our daughter still beams in excitement when we pass by the school, and she loves and misses her teachers Connie, Inga, Kiwi, and the awesome director Jenny. The hours are superb with options for a 10 hour day. We were late occasionally yet never had any issues unlike at other places; staff was understanding and considerate. They also work with families to prepare them for Kindergarten applications including private school interviews, which is great. There were only a few concerns throughout our couple years at the preschool: 1) Transitions between classrooms — we had a hard time adjusting so frequently in a small amount of time 2) Some teachers were extremely judgmental about outfits or appearance. I found this a bit insensitive because our child is a free spirit and likes dressing in costume or has favorite outfits she wants to wear again and again. 3) Kindergarten evaluations were very stressful and we were happy when the teacher in her classroom changed to a far more responsive one 4) System of rewards — we do not believe in this (it goes against positive discipline which encourages a whole person, learning focused approach that allows mistakes instead of perfect outcomes) Nonetheless, the school was a great preparation for our kid in terms of learning responsibility, social skills and even academics, and we are very happy we found it for those crucial early education years. On top of that, I really believe the director Jenny takes feedback, is passionate about education, and is personable, and she’s built a great early education school that’s a gem for the community. I’d recommend it in a heartbeat if you have an opportunity to send your child here.
We've been so happy with the care our son has received at Kansas Street. In fact, we sought out a BH after having a great experience with our daughter's time at another location. The staff is respectful, warm, responsive, and flexible. Our son clearly feels loved and valued, and he's made great friends. Every day they do something new, with lots of free play, outside play, and time to be silly kids -- the most important thing, in our book.
