What Parents Say
Bright Child receives mostly positive feedback, with parents praising the caring staff, developmental programs, and director Michelle's responsiveness. However, a few parents reported serious concerns about safety communication and incident reporting. The center appears to have made improvements in recent years, including infrastructure upgrades and pursuit of Parent Aware Rating certification.
I enrolled my daughter at Bright Child when before she was even born. I had interviewed 10+ childcare centers and as a new mom, I wanted to make sure I had the best care for my little one. Things drastically changed when I had my baby early and spent over a month in the hospital with a preemie. Michelle took the time to keep updated with me and see how she was doing. When it was finally time for her to start I was able to do a test week to see how she would do and not only did her staff put up with me calling every 30 min to check in, they posted amazingly cute updates and pictures through the day. Bright Child and Michelle Sengbusch have become a part of our family. My daughter is now in the toddler room and THRIVING. I have no doubt that its due to the amazing care she gets and the love from staff. They truly do treat the kids like their own and for that I am forever grateful!
The Kindergarten Readiness program Bright Child offers was such a great experience for our son. When he arrived on his first day he LOVED numbers, but refused to learn letters. He struggled with reading, writing or even remembering the basic things like what he had for lunch. By the end of the program, he not only could write his full name & was beginning to read, but we could see the changes in his desire to learn. The program gave him the excitement to be curious about the world and a desire for learning that he was missing before. Miss Bri did a great job of applying structure and routine and challenging him in new ways every single day. The entire Bright Child staff has been so friendly and inviting from the first day. We've been to three daycares in the last five years and this one is hands down the best we've been to. Between the adventures, activities, growth and passion for learning that they instill in the kids, this team has been amazing
Amy, My name is Michelle and I started as the director at Bright Child the early part of October 2014. I was able to review your file this morning and I am so sorry that you had that experience a few years ago. I can assure you that the children's safety is our number one concern here at Bright Child. Over the last few months our infant room has underwent some exciting changes including a fresh new layout, new cribs and a wonderful new lead teacher. Another exciting change here at the center is we are currently in the application/coaching process for a 3 star Parent Aware Rating. Once again Amy, I am so sorry for your experience and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at the center Monday through Friday.
Michelle, the director was very helpful with getting my kids in. She went above and beyond to get my girls in before the deadline. Well staffed, everyone is very nice to me and loving to my girls, and they always seem to have adequate staff for the number of kids. The kids are always participating in fun learning activities. I recommend this center to parents, they do a great job!
My child had a bruise on her head and I was never updated. They never wrote a report that another child had thrown a toy at there head. I took my child out ASAP and when I went back a month later they finally decided to tell me when I confronted them. I didn't confront them the first time because I took my child out of there so quick I was afraid something else might happen. This was when my child was 4 months old. Very scary.
