Bright Beginnings Preschool at Ankeny First UMC is a loving, faith-based preschool committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and welcoming environment for young children. Our teachers and staff truly care about each child and work hard to support their growth socially, emotionally, and academically. We are grateful to serve families in our community and are dedicated to continual improvement and excellence.
*My wife posted this same review on their Facebook page and they promptly deleted it. This review is not reflective of my experience with the teachers during the 2024/2025 school year, but of the church and preschool leadership. My daughter had a great year with a wonderful teacher. She gets 5 stars. However, the leadership blindsided the entire teaching staff by rescinding all teacher contracts for the 2025/2026 school year via email, during a school day, during teacher appreciation week. Even with the emails notifying parents, I’m still confused about why this happened (despite them stating to be “committed to transparency“). The current teaching staff has been completely mistreated, and it breaks my heart after they created such a warm and loving learning environment for my child. We will not be returning, and I would not recommend getting involved with this preschool or church in any capacity after this experience.
