Our impression of the center was that it was clean and the had a playful atmosphere about it. After about 6 months we began to feel there wasn’t as much structure or quality assistant/floater staff as we would have liked to see. Our toddler thrives in structure and as a result we ended up choosing to leave and go to a center closer to our home. I think the center is adequate, but the quality of care is classroom and teacher dependent.
We have been at Ankeny Christian Child care for 2 1/2 years now. We have three kids in the center and have been in every room. I can, hands-down, say that this is the best daycare center we have ever been at. The flexibility and dependability at Ankeny Christian Child care is second to none. We love the staff, and so do all of our kids. The staff goes the extra mile to get to know each kid, and family, individually. I love that the kids are allowed to have what I call “good old fashion fun”. It’s structured but not overly structured. Kids are allowed to use their imaginations and the staff seem to follow their lead. Lots of outdoor time and we love it when our kids come home dirty after a hard day of playing 😍 Kids are allowed (and encouraged) to be kids which is what we love most.
We have chosen Ankeny Christian Childcare for over 4 years now. Both of my daughters started here at the age of 3, full time, so our experience is from the 3 year old room to School Age. My youngest is greeted every morning by staff, and I receive updates and pictures all day long on their App! This year, they have Soccer Shots come on Thursdays, and I love the convenience this gives us when we want her to play soccer! In the summer, my 7 yo is kept so busy! She has been roller skating, bowling, mini golf, Operating Room, Ninja U, Urban Air, Zoo, Living History Farms, Reimen Gardens, Jester Park, Rainbow, Playground for kids and all the City Parks here in Ankeny! During the school year, they offer drop off/pick up from her school. We only have her picked up after school and brought back to daycare, but they have accommodated her for drop off when we needed it! Ankeny Christian Childcare has been great for our family and our crazy work schedules. We know our girls are being cared for and have fun opportunities that, otherwise, would miss out on!
We have been with ACC for 2.5 years and it remains an incredible experience. They love our children and we feel part of a family. We are grateful for their care, safety and development. Watching our children grow there is a blessing.
This center was not a good experience for us. Our 2.5 year old grandchild was left alone outside for 10 minutes. The employee has been let go. Since switching to a new daycare our grandchild has always been clean, at ACC her face was always crusty and dirty, she has not had a potty accident and she has had successful naps everyday!
