Bluegrass Academy Child Care-Mt. Washington

It’s been 1 full year and I’d like to finally leave a real review… My kids and I both love the daycare here! I have a 3yr & 1yr old, and 1 on the way and it’s the first daycare I feel fully comfortable dropping my children (especially infants) off to. My kids started when they were 2.5yr & 9mo., and the transition I thought would be much rougher, but the staff worked with my kids and things went smoother than I dreamt. Daycare gives the kiddos real meals served with milk, fruits and veggies and snacks after nap, on time feedings (baby’s), and consistent schedules for nap time for all ages. Each class room has their own schedule but it’s fairly close (+/- 30m window) to each age. With baby’s and toddlers up to age 2 you get reports with feedings and diapers which is great to know so you feel like you’re in the loop and made aware of anything like no poopy diapers or too many which can be off for your child. They also have a real playgrounds here for each age group which is fantastic and it’s attached to the building so they do not have to walk anywhere such as across the street or through a parking lot which is insanely unsafe (LVLC). My kids also genuinely like their teachers. When their teachers aren’t there they will sometimes have a rougher day bc of them being out, which to me says a lot. It especially makes me happy when my 1yr old reaches for the staff at drop off bc she’s attached to me at the hip and shows that she is very comfortable with them! Classrooms are also very clean with great toys for all types of play and learning. Starting at 2 the rooms have child size toilets in them so the teachers can work with your kids on potty training. Because of this my 3yr old was basically taught through school and seeing other kids potty and really made him want to potty train and it was within 2 days of entering the 3yr old class he was fully taught. If there were any improvements I’d recommend, I’d recommend a newer code system for entering the building as the numbers are faded off and are sometimes faulty where you cannot enter, and a smarter more advanced communication system for parents to see their children and receive updates such as the Brightweel app, instead of the paper reports. This way, you could be at work and get alerts when the kids have eaten and what they ate, times and types of diapers changed, napping times, pics, and direct messages to your phone. Having this helps you feel more involved with their day even if you’re not there, and gives you some relief or peace of mind. Although in my eyes, my kids are in the best care at home with me, I genuinely recommend this daycare to everyone. Management and teachers are all great, and open, and I fully trust them to care for my children. I will be continuing to have my children enrolled up until elementary school and more than likely keep them for after school care and summer care. It’s the first place where I am glad to attach my name to a review lol.

My son has been attending Bluegrass Academy for just over a month now and we love it. Amber was great when I called to inquire, gave us a tour the same day and was extremely accommodating in allowing us to enroll quickly. It is music to my ears when my son leaves everyday saying “I had so much fun”! He loves his teachers and all of the staff. So so glad we found this hidden gem. Highly recommend! 🙂

My two youngest children attend here. The workers all seem nice and generally care about your kids. It's clean and my children love to go. At first my boys cried when I dropped them off now they run and play with their friends and I get to go to work and know my kids are happy and well taken care of.

Amazing teachers, management & owners. I can drop my kids off and not worry about if they’re going to be cared for and loved on that day. They truly care about the kids.

Staff is amazing! I fully trust my child with this center!
