To Whom It May Concern, Bethlehem Community Center I am writing to formally express my concern regarding the conduct of certain teachers and the way my concerns were handled when I attempted to discuss the issue. I have had both of my children at Bethlehem Community Center for over five years, and throughout that time, I have never had any complaints. In fact, I have always spoken highly of the center and would wholeheartedly recommend the teachers—especially up until a child turns three. My past experiences are what made my recent encounter all the more disappointing. During my visit, I witnessed teachers yelling at children and putting their hands on them in ways that made me deeply uncomfortable. Because I care about the well-being and safety of the students, I felt it was necessary to bring this to someone’s attention. However, when I calmly expressed my concerns, I was met with unprofessional behavior and was dismissed rather than heard. This response left me unsettled, especially given my long-standing trust in the center. Any environment serving children should maintain high standards of professionalism, compassion, and safety. Unfortunately, what I witnessed—and the way my concerns were handled—did not reflect those values. I respectfully request that this matter be taken seriously and that appropriate steps be taken to ensure that staff conduct aligns with the standards Bethlehem Community Center has upheld for years. I would also appreciate follow-up communication once the issue has been reviewed. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope to see improvements that ensure the children at Bethlehem Community Center continue to be cared for in a safe and respectful environment.
My daughter been attending this school for only 7 months. Within that time period her teachers have been amazing! We love them dearly they are top tier! They do amazing work in the classroom the art we get at the end of the day is amazing I have a-lot to put in my daughter collection. My daughter has learned a-lot while attending and the teachers helped me with a schedule for my daughter during the day. I love the idea’s that the teachers have they stay on top of the students. I expressed my concerns and they give me feedback and suggestions they inform me what she learns at school and I continue to do it at home so she can better understand what she’s learning is correct. But the door security is very much petty, we got there @9 that’s cut off time. I didn’t try the code on the door she denied my daughter of her right to learn. What’s the point of daycare and school if it’s not about the kids. We supposed to teach the youth and educate them but they don’t seem to care nothing about that. It’s only if you show up on time and have a doctor’s note! But remind you they don’t care about a doctor’s note. They don’t take the time out to have conversations to make sure everything is okay in my opinion it’s only a judgmental environment.
Love this daycare. I never have to worry about any of my children that have been here. 10/10. Would ALWAYS RECOMMEND. Ms. Tiffany is my girl. She will get you right.
Let me start off by saying that I am so happy that I did not pay attention to the negative reviews. I wanted to wait until my daughter was no longer a student to give my honest review of this place. My daughter started in late January of this year. She is now 3 but at the time she started she was 2 years old. I was very hesitate because I had read the negative reviews but after speaking with the Front Office Administrator Ms. Tiffany, I decided to give the school a try. Teachers: The teachers that my daughter was placed with was Ms. Shaun and Mrs. Yulonda. Both teachers are really top notch. I loved how these teachers really focused on my daughters strengths and supported her in her weak areas. They worked with her academically and supported what I was working on at home. But most importantly, I love how they worked on my daughter's socio-emotional skills. And when my daughter got sick, her teacher Ms. Shaun visited her in the hospital which according to the doctor played a huge factor in her recovery. Her teacher Mrs. Yulonda really horned in on building independence and was always there to listen to any concerns that I had.My daughter is a bright and independent student because of these educators. School Environment: The school is very clean and artsy. I don't know if it is classified as an arts based childcare center but art is definitely incorporated more than your average childcare center. The walls are constantly updated with different art projects to match the monthly theme. And the teachers seem to be really big on decorating their doors to match the lessons. Overall, very nice atmosphere. Administrative Staff: The director is Mrs. Debra is very supportive and approachable. She has an open door policy and is very hands on. The staff in general was very supportive and would get back to you right away with an answer. Most of the time, you will interact with Ms. Tiffany and Ms. Brittani who are the front desk team. They are always there with a friendly smile and literally know the names of all the students. The Parent Coordinator is Ms. Norma and she is very resourceful. I also like the fact that she is bilingual, which helps create a feeling of inclusion. Overall the school is very reflective of its a community. It is located in the East Winston area and celebrates the heritage of the East Winston area. The building is very clean on the inside and outside and safe and secure. In order to enter into the building, parents have to use their assigned passcode. The front desk staff, especially Ms. Tiffany will not let just anyone enter in the building. I was never concerned with my daughter's safety while she attended. I highly recommend this school.
Great staff from Brittany, Tiffany, and Ms. Whitherspoon at the front to the teachers. Ms. Sharon, Ms. Peggy, Ms. Alecia, and Ms. Alexis are just a few of the great teachers. Our son started when he was 11 weeks old and LOVES going there everyday. He literally jumps out of his seat when he sees the building. Really great place. The staff truly cares about your kids.
