What Parents Say
Discovering Our World Child Development Center in Winston-Salem has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from most parents, with praise for caring staff and long-term family satisfaction. However, one parent reported being denied enrollment for their autistic 2-year-old due to staff capacity concerns, with the center later responding that they provided referrals to specialized facilities.
Responding to Jeannetta Hayes, We understand your frustration and it is never our goal to make a family feel this way. We intend to always provide the best services for our children and families. Even more importantly, we are firm on integrity. If there is a family whose needs surpass our facilities abilities and accommodations, we do what we can to still support that family, even if they aren't an immediate part of our center family. Another layer integrity is transparency. This post fails to mention the support we provided you, by giving you two childcare center referrals that specialize in supporting children and families with special needs information. We are a facility who truly care for what is best, and that's what we tried to relay to you. Please accept our sincerest apologies, and reach out if any further resources or support is ever needed. We'd love to still call you all an extension of our center family.
I dislike places like this that refuse to accept children with disabilities I Just called this place to see if they had availability for a 2 year old almost 3 in October and the lady who I spoke with I guess she was the director of the facility was very nice at first until she asked me does my son have a disability and I replied yes he does then the whole conversation changed I told her my son was autistic and she said she wasn't going to be able to accept him because that would be to much on her staff. Things like this hurt my heart because my son is a great child and people like her refuse to work with him because he is autistic. The sad part is this is not the first place that has said this to me about my son if these daycares fill this way why in the world don't they have daycares for children with special needs
