Berwick Area Ymca Day Care

the locker rooms look run down and like they are from the 1960’s, half of it is carpeted and very damp and unhygienic. All the wet people from the pool are walking into the carpeted area. My husband wanted to shower after working out but the mens room had no privacy, all open nude showers. The concrete floors from the pool to the locker rooms are falling apart, it looks like youre in a run-down basement. They spent so much money for a new gym but neglected everything else it seems. The pool is nice but not many lanes and often have to share. The gym is open 24/7 but to get to a bathroom it seems you have to walk across the whole building, unless I’m missing something. And for those people who work off hours and would like to shower after a workout, there are none available unless you go when theyre open for business.

Nice gym not as big as Wilkes barre or Bloomsburg ymca but it does the trick

When in the area, this ymca is the place we go to for the pool. This indoor pool is great for our family since we have people of all ages. This time around visiting the lifeguard on duty called Hailey made my visit very unpleasant. First time she approached me was to tell me my 3 year old couldn't climb the small blue wall that divides the walk in pool and the lap pool even though my 3 year old wasn't even on it. Second time she came she approached my 3 year old and got in her face saying excuse me excuse me as if I wasn't standing right there. I have a huge problem how she went about it. She didnt have to approach my child to her face for touching the blue wall. Not even on it just touching it. Also my child is autistic and non verbal. I made it very clear that her approach was unacceptable and we argued back and forth. My kid freaks out when water falls on her face but being in the pool with family she was facing fears and I was enjoying watching her have fun up until Hailey put a damper on things. She doesn't seem to be to open to the diversity we bring and it was very clear she had a problem with us.

Their renovated gym facility is amazing. They just about every cardio and weight machine you could need.

Berwick YMCA is a great place to work out. I have always found the staff friendly and helpful. The future of this YMCA is in good hands. Note the photo is posted is the expansion of the gym as it was in December 2022. As a 71 year old male I find the facilities uncrowded most of the time. I get a fresh towel for my shower every day. The men's locker room is adequate. I like the fact I can have my own locker for a small annual fee.
