Bernard Weinger Jewish Community Center

This is my favorite JCC in Chicagoland. not sure if it's still a thing but you can buy challah bread on Fridays at the front desk for like $5 or something super cheap. It's King David bakery so it's super high quality. Anyway the facility is immaculate 100% super clean and 10 out of 10 would recommend getting a membership here. The workout equipment is brand new, like it was just purchased. And they have an app where you can reserve swim lanes.

We went for the ballroom dance class on Monday night. Nice atmosphere. Unfortunately they took out the mirrors. The floor is usually quite nice, but sometimes a little sticky in spots.

My son goes to daycare at Bernard Weinger and it is the best daycare he's been to! He's been to quite a few with moving and having to deal with temporary care but we are so glad he's found his new home away from home at Bernard Weinger. First and most importantly the teachers are wonderful with kids -the caring and family-like setting is so refreshing because they don't have to be political about the care they provide like at some daycares where it's all about rules and needless overhead. Without all the red tape they can better cater to the needs of each individual child -and they do! My son is so happy there -he literally runs to class in the mornings excited, happily waves "bye bye" to me and yes has so much fun there that I've actually had to carry him out crying some days because he wasn't "done playing" (embarrassing but undeniably a good sign for the facility :) Secondly and also very important is they actually care about nutrition -most of the food offered is either organic or kosher which is a lot healthier than most daycares and every meal (including snacks) is accompanied by fruits or vegetables. Being health conscious, we are so glad to have found a daycare where my son eats well. And while those 2 reasons alone are enough for most parents, I will add that the administration has been nothing but helpful. We received such a reassuring welcome with daily calls from the director during the first week to report how our son was doing since she sensed the nervousness we felt bringing him to a new daycare after a very hard move. There was another director standing in during the summer was also just wonderful to us, listening to our needs and offering her full support. And we have gotten to know the new director who started this fall and is just as open and accommodating. Everyone at Bernard Weinger JCC from director to teachers to front desk staff to cleaning crew exhibit an amazing love of children that is proven by the fact that my son has nothing but smiles from and for everyone we come in contact with on the way in or out (and most amazingly greet him by name!). I have never seen anything like it and am truly impressed with the outstanding environment he gets to spend his day in. Bernard Weinger has proved to live by the JCC principles of cherishing children, welcoming families, and having devoted educators. We look forward to spending many more years with this exceptional establishment!

My Grandson gets in the car and he is happy. That’s all that counts. Security guard at pick up keeps a close eye on everything. Great counselors who genuinely care.

Extremely unhelpful front desk staff. Inquired about joining the gym, he said “look online”.
