Beacon Day Care

My son (9 months) and my daughter (2.5 years) goes to this center and all the staff is so friendly there. Every time I drop my kids off and pick them up they are eager to go to their rooms and see their teacher for the day. I feel relieved that my kids are in a safe environment when I go to work for the day.

I would rate 0 stars if I could. And I don't even have children in this facility. This center is on my way and a few weeks ago, when I was at the four-way stop, I witnessed the childcare "teacher" smack a child on the head in their outside play area. I was absolutely appalled and called a report with the DHS and childcare services right away. They just sent me a letter that their surprise inspection didn't turn up anything, so I'm doing everything I can to warn people of this facility. What a disgrace, to be trusted with young lives and to mistreat them like this! Don't send your children here.

i’d rate this as a zero, if that was an option. but i recently heard for a parent that there was a fire alarm pulled by a child. they evacuated, like they should. except for one exception… the babies. they didn’t evacuate the babies because it was “too much work.” but what if the child who pulled it, actually needed it because of a real emergency?! & saying this means, they left the babies unattended… for how long?! do you really want to trust your own children here…???

Would rate ZERO stars if I could. Beacon daycare center in greensburg is absolutely horrible. Just within one week of working there I witnessed complete chaos. No structure for the kids, staff that hardly pay attention to anything. They do not sanitize the toys or classroom regularly. Too busy talking about personal issues in life then focusing on the care of the children! I have witnessed staff tell 2 year olds that if they didn’t go to sleep their parents would not pick them up and that they were terrible kids for acting ridiculous just because you throw a cot down and expect them at 2 to just go to sleep easily. Then telling a 2 year old at noon during lunch that she cannot have anymore food because she threw a chicken nugget that was burnt and hard as a rock on the ground ( that the director knew was burnt chicken nuggets and still fed them to the kids but made fresh ones for her self ) so this little girl didn’t eat from noon until 6pm when her mom picked her up a 2 year old went hungry but was expected to peacefully nap being hungry. Kids there learn nothing they just run around all day doing whatever no structured centers for learning no activities to help sharpen their minds and staff are not hands on with the kids too busy on their phones or gossiping. The kids there are so sweet and I feel so bad for them and the parents that are led to believe their kids are getting the care they deserve for the amount of money they pay to be able to have peace of mind while at work. The owners are theeee worst they will block you and not say a word just because you won’t work the ridiculous short hours they want you to they lie and manipulate and the director is just as bad giving all of the hours to her son that works there but expecting other staff to pick up hours that she deems reasonab and even though my child was in childrens hospital with a fever and dehydrated and sick with the flu and I have documentation and work excuses they still wanted me to come in, and expose other children to illness. Horrible company to work for and horrible daycare to send your child to! The icing on the cake was when I was told I’d work in the 2 yr old room and they tried to put me in the 1 yr old room. My daughter is in the 2 yr old room and after witnessing how they handle children never would I leave my child in their care without me present. unfortunately all your child will learn from there is bad behavior. Go anywhere else for child care PLEASE!

We are so disappointed in this facility. We trusted them with our daughter and personal information which they misused. Their director Alyssa was rude to us from day 1 because we called our schedule in late (which we got approval from the owner to do so). The same director later talked to other employees about kicking us out if we do not go to 5 days a week, which we were part time. She never even brought this to our attention, another employee told us they hope we don't get kicked out for not moving up to 5 days. Lastly an employee was spreading a rumor that my husband had a girlfriend which he got pregnant. When i brought all these concerns to the owner Bill he firstly never apologized, he then brought up money that was apparently owed to him, and then kept trying to brush it under the rug saying we misunderstood what was being said. I asked for a meeting with all parties involved which never received. So we decided to pull our daughter, because we felt she was not receiving proper care, i mean how could she when all the employees are more concerned with talking about the parents. I'm writing this so other familier do not have to go through the same turmoil as we did and especially over fathers day.
